Sorry for the delay in responding to your review housewyf, as it 'landed' under completed reviews. In any event, we're thrilled that our Duty Host overcame a slight glitch to ensure that your stay was brilliant overall. Great to hear you'll be back someday.

I have just spent the long weekend at crieff Hydro, i was celebrating my sons 18th with his friends and some family. There was 16 adults(6 of them were 18) and a 2 year old in the company, we had booked 2 of the 8 berth lodges/chalets/cottages, cant remember what they call them but they were the "Macgregor & MacFarlane" (i think), with interconnecting doors. These were excellent, i cant say enough good things about them, we had 3 bedrooms, all were en-suite, a large seating/tv area which is kind of open plan with the kitchen and dining table. These areas where all a good size and had everything you needed and more, Tv in every bedroom, huge tv in living room area and also dvd player & a Denon HIFI, which is an excellent make.

Toilets were all spotless, stunning and a good size. There were also good size balcony/verandah's on each lodge, both with tables and chairs.

The hotel is also stunning, its a good size aswell, deceiving from the outside, it has everything you need, we had a meal in the Brasserie, the family resaurant/pub and were in here quite a lot, they did struggle a little with the meals for us on the saturday night but there was 17 of us and it was also very busy anyway so im not going to complain about that.
We also went to the hub where you get pool table, table tennis, air hockey, x-box and other things, you can also get sandwiches, snacks and also a pint aswell. the swimming pool is just along from here, past the bowling green and the football pitch, there is a soft play area aswell and there was a bouncy castle in the gym hall. The swimming pool is a good size, there is a baby pool and a jacuzzi at the poolside and a sauna & steamroom in at the changing area.
The tennis courts are just at the front of the hotel and looked in excellent condition. There was also stables on the grounds and we regularly past groups going on a trek around the grounds.
Nearly forgot, they have a golf course, putting green and pitch n putt and theyre very own clubhouse where you can eat and drink.

You name it and they have got it here.

My only moan was that we tried to book the quads, 4x4 driving, rifle shooting, clay pigeon shooting and archery but were told that a corporate group of 100 were at the hotel and they had block booked almost everything, we were offered some spaces but they just didnt suit, way too early in the morning or not enough spaces etc. The boys were disappointed but it didnt last as they found other things to do and didnt grump about it.

We also went into the Miekle on the last night, this was the posh bar & restaurant, we didnt eat but had a few drinks, the bar was excellent, nice n cosy, i couldve have stayed in there all night.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful, i would recommend this place to anybody, we had special accomodation and i dont know if all the other rooms or lodges are the same quality but i dont think you will be in your room very long anyway. We paid about £2200 i think, but that was for 16 people and when you see the quality of the accomodation you will see its worth it.

Give it a go, it was brilliant. Ive only gave the service a 4 star because of the corporate mob hogging all the outdoor activities, i dont know how they could fix this but it would be worth looking at, the rest of the service from the staff was excellent

Room Tip: Ask for the Macgregor or Macfarlane if thats the size you need, they are brilliant

My friend and I stayed for one night on the "Girls night in " package.
When we arrived, reception was busy but we were attended to quickly.
Our room was not ready [ we had arrived early] so we went for lunch [ this was included]
Lunch was in the Brasserie. We said what package we were on and no one semed to know what we were entitled too! Eventually, the waiter brought us the " special menu" which was two courses for £9.95 or we could have chosen from the main menu for £10.
We were offered water but no other drinks! We could have asked I suppose, but thought it was not up to us to ask!
Anyway, the lunch was lovely.
We returned to the reception for our room card. The room was modern and clean.. It overlooked the car park, so not much of a view! We had upgraded to an executive room. We had free Wi-Fi, a fridge,T.V [which we didn't use]
White Company products were a lovely surprise. Lovely fluffy towels. Pillows were hard and uncomfortable.
The Victorian Spa WAS included in our package [ members of staff did not seem to know if it was included or not!] We had to visit the Leisure Club then go to the Health and Beauty room then back to the Leisure centre again to find out!] The Victorian Spa was busy and there were no loungers to sit on. I think there should be a limit on how many people are in the spa at one time. If you had paid £10 [usual charge] to sit on a floor, I think you would ask for your money back!
I notice there is no fruit now just cordial and tea/coffee/water.
Our evening meal was at the Murraypark [sister hotel to the Hydro] The meal was tasty and the staff were attentive and helpful.
Breakfast in the Meikle Restaurant was lovely. All the food was laid out in a veritable feast! I was glad to see veggie sausages too. The only problem was that my friend had bacon [which she was really looking forward to] she said it was cold and fatty. Other than that, we couldn't fault it.
Our "yummy mummy facial" at the Health and beauty parlour was brilliant. We loved the hot chocolate too! We bought some of the products used [the therapists were not pushy, which was good]
All in all we had a great time, a few minor gripes but would thoroughly recommend Crieff Hydro.

We have stayed a few times for short breaks, most recently at Easter and then at the end of May. We found the 'family room with alcove' ideal for infants. The 'Big Country is something that children look forward to and provides a welcome break for the adults to enjoy free time and peaceful dining. Pony riding, story time, bouncy castle and swimming lessons add to the fun although on our recent visits the main swimming pool was far too cold. This resulted in the children's pool being overcrowded by adults trying to warm up. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the rooms we have been in are clean and well serviced. There is a good choice of food and children have their own arrangements at mealtimes. Looking forward to visiting again at the end of June, especially if the pool is warmer.

Room Tip: The 'family room with alcove' is ideal for infants.

You've certainly sussed how to get the very best from your family breaks at the Hydro Hugh F, and we look forward to seeing you again at the end of the month. Sorry the pool was cold last time - but it takes a wee while for the water to heat up following each 'backwash' and refill.

I've stayed here on several occasions for both business and pleasure, most recently for a conference this week. The staff are unfailingly lovely and helpful, we had an emergency at work needing a scanned document, staff could have been nicer and more efficient in getting the document both scanned and posted free of charge. Given that I was at a conference I must also say how impressed at the quality of the food and serving staff, both were excellent. This is a marvellous resort for work or play that I would happily recommend to all.

Crieff is a wonderful town and the location of this hotel is wonderful. The reception staff were excellent and this level of service runs throughout the hotel. I wanted to eat in the Meikle Restaurant but it was fully booked, so I ate in the Brasserie. The service was first class and so was the food. I only stayed for one night on a business trip, but I wish I could have staye for longer and I'll mak sure I'm back again soon.

Have stayed here a good few times in the past and look forward to the next stay. Our room was a good size and spotless, the only critisism would be that the bathroom was very compact, but again spotless. All staff were very friendly but also professional. We ate in the Meikle Restaurant on both nights and the food was lovely and nicely presented. Keep up the good work!!!!
