This miniature castle is completely isolated, there is not another building in sight but easy access. On arrival, the East Lodge doesn't look that big, but as you enter, you immediately realise that it is more spacious than suggested by the photographs! There is even a spiral stone staircase which goes up the turret which children will love.
The two bedrooms have plenty of space, thick walls and the beds are unbelievably cosy. We loved the old bath which apparently came from the nearby castle and were pleasantly surprised to find underfloor heating. All very modern as it has been fully refurbished recently, the owners said.
There are stunning views from the windows, you're surrounded by mountains that were snowcapped when we visited. Hence the magical title, our daughter thought she was living in a fairytale world for the weekend.
The owners provided everything imaginable. There were logs for the fire, food, blankets, books, hot water bottles and more. We felt so at home when we arrived back in the evenings and slept well.
Five stars and we would love to come back one day,
