We had the best ever weekend here! I had researched so many houses before booking this and it was definitely worth the effort - a superb house in every way. Anne was so helpful in recommending a cook and finding a gin distillery that we could visit. Sitting in the hot tub in the snow was magical! The house was very warm and there was masses of hot water which was appreciated by all the girls. We relaxed by the log fire till late into the night. Highly recommend.
The house was great accommodation for 9 adults and 3 grandchildren.
The layout meant people had space to themselves for quiet moments but the kitchen /dining area was the heart of the house. Plenty of toys etc for the grandchildren who loved the garden. Good walks in the cold but sunny weather. The hot tub was enjoyed on a cold but sunny afternoon and the log fire in the evenings.
The rooms were clean and well appointed as were the bathrooms /en suites. We appreciated the welcome pack. All in all a great place for a break.
I booked the house for a weekend getaway/reunion/birthday for my brother. We had 12 people coming from all over UK and even one from Singapore. We couldn't have asked for more from the venue. Hot tub and garden were ideal to work off the sore heads from the previous night in The Square Bar in Crieff (highly recommend a visit but maybe not the food).
We had a caterer come in on one night and cook for us so the kitchen was perfectly sized and stocked for that and the dining room was great.
Crieff Hydro and Glenturret distillery are both round the corner and well worth a visit too.
All in all a great venue for a great weekend. Anne's communication throughout was very helpful. No matter how minor my question was she answered very quickly which was very useful.
Can't recommend the Old Manse enough.
See you next year!!
From the outset, we were confident that this was going to be one of the best, thanks to the attention Anne provided throughout the booking process (we changed dates a couple of times). The house feels like a real home, with an elegant warmth and sophistication, and with every comfort you can imagine, including a hot tub which looks out across the lawns. We concluded that this was a highland home like no other and yet just a few minutes drive into the charming town of Crieff, with its excellent choice of restaurants and stylish shops.
One final comment- we actually booked the house just as 2 couples which although an indulgence suited us perfectly to have the run of the whole place. Utterly private and secluded, yet not isolated. Would recommend unreservedly.
