We (2 adults, 2 children aged 5 & 6) are just back from a weekend camping in the forest. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Great pitch sites, great walking. Only reason I didn't give a 5 rating is that there always seemed queues for the toilets/showers but everyone seemed to manage fine with good humour. Very relaxing with stories and meals around the camp fire (luckily my husband makes a good fire!). Rained very heavily the second night but the river provided us with a good facility to wash slashes of mud off the fly sheet, cooler, etc, etc. Simply added to the fun and was just another excuse for the girls to paddle in the river again!

Room Tip: Get a woodland pitch... so tranquil.

We've just returned from a 2 night camping holiday with 4 other families at Comrie Croft. We stayed in the High meadow which gave us uninterrupted views across the Perthshire countryside, a fantastic area for the 8 kids (aged between 2 & 5) to roam around & play safely and so much space that we could enjoy our evenings round the campfire without disturbing our neighbours. Only downside was the steep path down to the toilets & showers - but not a major inconvenience.

Friendly staff, well stocked shop, cafe on site with lovely sandwiches, woodland walks, mountain bike tracks, chickens, etc - fabulous site. This was our 2nd visit and we will be back!!

Comrie Croft is a fantastic venue - basic, comfortable accomodation in beautiful surroundings - We have been twice now and stayed in both the hostel and a Kata - Both experiences were great, staff so friendly, atmosphere very welcoming and in summer they have a lovely tea room if you dont want to cook breakfast. Kids love staying in the Kata and cooking with the stove and there is so much for them to do on site - games barn, cycle track, tyre swings, chickens!

Room Tip: The Katas are a little further from the loos

We were a group of Families, camping for the long weekend in May. The location & grounds are fantastic, allows the kids lots of freedom. They have added a an adventure bike trail, which is good fun. This was our 2nd trip, we now make it an annual one !!

It does what it says in the tin. Basic rooms but comfortable and in a lovely location. Nothing apart from a tea room on site tho and its quite expensive. U can hire bikes too. We went to a nice Italian for somethi g ti eat but again it was pricey. The wigwams look really good they have a stove and a place for a fire at the fro t. Would go back there

we have just returned from a family break in a Kata and I can honestly say we have all had a fantastic time! My children have sung from the minute they got up until they fell asleep exhausted after spending days enjoying the outdoors and evenings round a campfire eating and relaxing. My boys are 10 and 9 and both enjoy the outdoors, they have hiked and biked all week, learned new skills and appreciated the challenges of the outdoors. The kata itself was fab, warm and comfortable and very spacious. The toilets were always clean and the showers were lovely and hot. We were very lucky with nice weather for our trip so we cooked and ate outside every evening. Not once did I hear either of the boys moan because they were missing something on the TV they were too busy being wee boys!! A massive thank you to Comrie croft for a superb break!

Just back from a 3 night mid week break and Comrie Croft. We stayed in the hostel with a private toilet, sharing the kitchen and sitting areas. The hostel was immaculate and the room suited our needs (though could have done with some hooks to hang our clothes) Our days were spent following the various trails and feeding the chickens!! Evenings relaxing meeting new people in the shared areas. Our little girl loved it so much she didn't want to come home. I thoroughly recommend if you want to get away from it all. Special mention for the tea shop - the cakes are amazing and I had the best egg mayo sandwich!
