Just got back from camping at Comrie Croft over the weekend. I have never camped before but my boyfriend is a bit of a pro at it. I absolutley loved every minute of it.
The lad on Reception was very helpful when we checked in, Showers and wash areas kept clean and tidy, Loved the little tea room and the shop stocks everything that you could need.
We will be back !!!

We stayed with our two kids (age 7 and 5) for two night nights last weekend. I would recommend it to anyone who likes the idea of camping but struggles with the reality of being cold, damp and cramped - staying in a kata is none of these things!!

We stayed in kata 1, at the top of the hill. Great location, nice and sheltered. Loved the easy to use stove inside the tent, which heated up quickly and was relatively easy to keep lit overnight. We all enjoyed taking it in turns to relax in the hammock, and toasting marshmallows on our camp fire.

The katas are so well equipped with a table and chairs inside as well as a picnic bench outside, cooking utensils, gas canister provided (in the unlikely event that you don't want to light the fires!), and a bag of firewood for each of the nights we stayed.

In addition, the staff were all super-friendly and helpful, the shop sells some basics, and the cafe looked (and smelled) great, althought we didn't use it.

Lastly, it was SO refreshing to visit a campsite that allows fires! Felt like "real" boy-scout camping!!! We'll definitely be back.

Just back from 2 nights camping. It was great. If you have children book the lower campsite as it is nearer to the toilets. You cannot park your car next to your tent but the car park is not far and they provide wheel-barrows if you require.
- toilets and showers great. You can hire towels if you wish.
- fridge freezer and microwave for you to use.
- you can hire a locker for a £1 for 24 hours, in which is a plug. There are no plugs in the shower.
- £5 for a big of fire wood. The kids loved the campfire at night.
- shop on site good but more expensive than normal supermarket.
We had a fantastic time, will return again.

Stayed in the farmhouse at the end of June, and probably because of the weather the place was quiet with maybe 6 people in. I had a room to myself. Facilities are good - large kitchen and dining area, lounge and separate TV area with free wi-fi in the public rooms (and probably upstairs - I was in the end room downstairs and it didn't stretch that far). All very relaxed and informal - I didn't see any staff until I wandered over to pay in the morning. There's a reasonable shop with a fair range of camping supplies plus maps and guides, and the map for the bike trails above the camping area. And watch out for the hens in the car park!

Room Tip: Don't be put off if you can't get anyone on the phone - assuming there is space, you just pi...

Comrie Croft Swedish Katas provide a great camping experience, tipi style tents with everything you need to cook and stay warm. My favourite part was the cosy wood burning stove. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and they have just recently opened a tea garden where you can enjoy a breakfast roll or fabulous home baked cakes. Very clean showers and toilets. Great walks for families and mountain bike trails for the keen biker. Will be back great fun and good value.

Four of us stayed in one of the Katas a few weeks ago. Firstly the facilities are the best I've seen at any campsite in UK. The katas have been thoughtfully located so as to have a bit of privacy from the rest of the campsite. They also have everything you need to cook and keep warm. However I did find the Kata a little small for four adults and not any more comfortable than actual camping. If there are four of you, this is fine as the price is reasonable. However if there are just two of you then it costs the same as a B&B. In which case, either camp properly or get a hotel!
