We didn't want to dress up, so chose this restaurant for dinner. Entrees were excellent, we had onion soup to start which was just ok. Great service and cocktails.

“Excellent”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

We had lunch here recently and were very impressed. I felt that most items on menu were reasonably priced. The service was first rate. The ambience was just fabulous and the food was excellent. It was a beautiful day and the views from the restaurant were stunning. A most enjoyable experience and we'll definitely return!

“Disappointed”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

If you pay the extortionate prices for a game of golf over any of the Gleneagles Golf Courses the least you can expect is a place to have a drink after the match.
Unfortunately, on this occasion, the Dormy Clubhouse did not fufil that expectation. One of the lounges was closed completely. The other was primarily for those seeking food, again at dis-proportionate prices. We found a nice outdoor area, which we were curtly advised was for the sole use of customers who "drank whisky and smoked cigars". Needless to say, we took little heed of that advice......I thought the days of segregation, was over !!! After the third "warning" from an assistant manager...we left, not staying for lunch, which we had intended to do. Diageo....you need to greatly improve your customer service and take a step back from the "elitist" attitude that seemed to pervade the whole establishment. With the exception of the barman who was to be congratulated on his experience and sense of humour.

“Average says it all”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

Dinner on Sunday evening after days golf.Menu highlighted the tandoori oven and new choices. All four of us decided to try the chicken tandoori with nan bread and mint. All four agreed the chicken was very dry and nan bread over baked and burnt in parts. We requested mango chutney which was not available and the three sauces supplied were very small and not sufficient for the size of the meal.Service was very disorganised and not a great deal of warmth from the staff.£120 for 4 main courses and 4 alcoholic drinks .Very poor all round

“well over par- "bogey"”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

Arrived here on way further north thinking this would be good experience for the family but was rather disappointed at the prices- this was michelin star prices for at best good pub grub. pulled pork brioche £15?? The service was friendly and the place was full and looking at the recent reviews others seem impressed- they say golf is a good walk spoiled and this restaurant with its exorbitant price methinks is the emperors clothes- unlikely to be back but i am sure it will be full to overflowing for the ryder cup aficionados - good look to them- bring your cheque book
