“Good but drainage is a challenge.”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Played Kings, PGA and Queens and the last was definitely borderline playable with large pools of water on the fairways. The greens on all courses are very good (maybe a couple of wet spots on Queens) but it will be interesting to see how they cope with the Ryder Cup 2014 on the PGA if it rains (we were here end Sept. too). Not the very best courses we've played but staying in the hotel does mean you pay reduced rates (part of a package) so it comes down to a reasonable price/enjoyment ratio.

“It's why Gleneagles is hosting the 2014 Ryder Cup”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Excellent courses as you might expect. The wee course is a 9 hole largely par 3 course, but still a challenge. The favourite of most golfers is the Queens - it's very scenic and a bit more forgiving to amateurs than the others. The PGA is a monster of a course, probably better for low h/cap players, which is why it's the course staging the 2014 Ryder Cup, although the Kings is also a challenge and has regularly been the favourite for major professional competitions. I would almost always choose to play the Queens.

“Great golf”

Fabulous courses in superb condition. A joy to play. The courses were not too busy. The PGA will make for a great Ryder Cup venue.

“The Kings Course is Excellent”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

I played the Kings Course while staying at Gleneagles and it is beautiful. Very hilly and undulating, but with flowers and wonderful views/scenery every where. It is also very difficult, but I played very well.

“Expect nothing less than breath taking.”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Both PGA & King's have stunning views and the course is well manicured. Enjoyed playing the courses, twice each course! Walking the King's course is great and would recommend a buggy for the PGA because of the green to tee box is a tat hilly.
