“Great atmosphere and quality food”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

This was our third visit to Deseo. This time we ended up seated close to the kitchen...and saw the food being prepared close up. My fish in particular was excellent and the tapas dishes we shared among us were delicious. The service was a little hit and miss but didn't spoil the evening and by way of thank you our sweets were made complimentary. Can't wait to return.
PS All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

“Great atmosphere but poor food”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

We arrived with great expectations! The beautiful Gleneagles hotel, home to the monied and famous. Always known that I can cook a reasonable meal but expected bit of luxury here. Service came up trumps, as did the wine, but the food was not as good as a local pizza takeaway, be
warned, no fresh mozeralla in sight. We did complain and was happy with a 25 pound refund. We did originally plan to visit twice but the local co- op has a stone baked pizza offer on, so we'll save at least 80 quid and may enjoy it more!

“Anytime food”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

We had a late lunch here mid-week . The anti-pasto choices were excellent and the lunch menu was both well priced and had good options. Try a tiramisu, it's for sharing, it was delicious and could easily have been shared by 3.

“Informal dining”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

A nice restaurant in a luxury hotel that is more informal. The food is still great. I am not too lean on where the restaurant is placed in the hotel. It's a bit out of the way.

“What a transformation”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

First visit since the revamp and it has certainly transformed this restaurant into a much more interesting venue.
We were given a short tour by the maitre de before being seated in the quiet area. One of the specialities is steak and we tried the sirloin which was excellent. Service was quick and efficient although the waitress who took our dessert order excelled herself by arranging for rum & raisin icecream to be delivered from the Strathern on the other side of the hotel. Impressed.
