This was our second stay here, the first time was a few days for our honeymoon, this time in a 3 bed lodge with 4 friends.

The lodges are roomy and well appointed, although starting to look a little tired now. We had some issues locking the patio door, and one of the water heaters was faulty. Once maintenance picked up these issues they were resolved quickly.

We were actually here for a fortnight and got locked out at the end of the first week as our key cards expired - apparently they can only programme them for a week, but had failed to mention this to us at check in. It was a good job we didn't arrive back in the early hours of the morning that day.

The resort now offers Beauty by Brenda and Brenda is an absolute delight. Do make sure you book her for a treatment, which can either be at a room in the main hotel or in your lodge. Brenda is well equipped to travel and very competent, not to mention very reasonably priced.

The restaurant/bar meals were superb and could not be faulted. The weekly quiz in the bar with George was well worth a visit.

Auchterarder is a great village with lots of shops to visit. Heartily recommend Simon Howie butchers, so unusual to see shops like this anymore and the burgers were amazing.

Room Tip: We were glad not to be too near the leisure centre because the raucous calling of the rooks or whate...

We had a fabulous time at the Duchally Estate, the lodges are spotless, roomy and very well equipped . The beds were very comfortable with the exception of the sofa bed, which was like sleeping upside down as it was on a slant so all the blood rushed to your head. We cooked and ate in the Lodge for 4 out of the 5 nights as we had an extremely disappointing meal in the Hotel on our first night, basic and overpriced (kids tomato soup tasted like it was out of a tin). We discovered that we were far better off popping into Marks and Spencer in either Dunblane or Perth and chilling out in our amazing Lodge!!! We ar.e already planning our next trip

We stayed overnight because we were eating at Andrew Fairlie's in Gleaneagles, which was a five minute taxi-ride away, which cost £10.00. The B&B at Duchally cost £128.00 which compared well , even after adding the taxi fares, with the £400.00 (no breakfast) available at Gleneagles
Duchally is certainly 4* in terms of its pleasant public areas, spacious and well furnished bedrooms and very acceptable breakfast. The grounds are well-kept, and you can go for a pleasant walk before breakfast. Staff were efficient and friendly.
Andrew Fairlie's was sensational and cost more than any of this, but was worth it.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom lodge for 2 nights and the accommodation was large, clean and very comfortable. The only negative was the amount of bird droppings on the balcony and garden furniture. Guests should not be expected to clean tables and chairs before using them. The decking was also in need of a good power wash and the wooden furniture has been neglected. We did not eat in the hotel but did order some take away food which was reasonably priced and delicious. The spa and fitness room were quiet when we popped in and I only wish we had been able to use the facilities as the pool looked very inviting. The grounds are well kept and the hotel has provided ample outdoor furniture should you prefer to sit outside. Check in time of 4 pm is late and also check out at 10 is a bit too early for my liking but I did know this before booking. Overall we had a lovely stay at Duchally and hope to return soon but please please please give a little love and attention to the balcony/ decking.

My husband & I visited Duchally Country Estate on Sunday 9th June for lunch. It was our first time to the estate and were very impressed by the peaceful setting. Our lunch was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The bar & waitressing staff were very pleasant indeed and laughed and joked with us which made our visit most enjoyable. We are not often in the area but when we are travelling to Glasgow, we will certainly try to pop in again as it is a lovely place to stop.

Room Tip: We did not stay over although it would have been nice to do so.

Myself and my partner very rarely get weekends off from work together, and being fairly new to scotland, were excited about travelling somewhere new for a weekend away. We chose Duchally as it boasted open grounds and the idea of our own lodge appealed as we usualy opt for hotels.

In all fairness the grounds are very well kept, and is really pleasing to look at but they are a lot smaller than you would expect, and a lot mroe cramped with lodges that we had thught. The 'Nature Trail' was a 5 minute, dead-ended walk into the woodland which although very nice, I wouldn't exactly call a trail and the BBQ area was fairly small with a few benches. We popped into the 'Spa' which again is very small and when busy, is far from relaxing.

We tried to book in for dinner in the restaurant to be told it was fully booked, and was subsequently handed a selection of local take-out menus including the local chicken shop so again, didnt really add to our 5* experience. On hindsight we should have booked a day or so before however the lodge was booked fairly last minute and as there was two of us who would have been happy to eat early or late, I'm sure we could have been squeezed in with a bit of effort. Given the beautiful weather, we decided to picnic within the grounds for lunch but after asking staff where they would reccomend to sit, they suggested the best place was the grass outside of the entrance, again not quite the large country estate I had in mind which was disapointing. It wasnt helped by a large group of girls sitting outside on the grass playing extremely loud music for around 3 hours.

Our biggest bugbear though, and truely the reason for us not returing, would be the ridiculous 10:00am check-out time. This is far too early, and at exactly 10am we had two staff members peering through our windows to see if it was still occupied - hardly a relaxing scenario being evicted early on a Sunday with little leeway. Whilst this didn't effect us, it may be worth noting that the check-in time is 4pm so not very good value for money in our opinion. The hotel quote cleaning as a reason for the early check-out but there was no option, certainly not from what we saw, to see if we could have opted for a later check-out.

The lodge itself was very clean, very well equipped and very nciely decorated although the showers require an update (dirty grouting, etc) and the worn rugs lower the look of the place - that said, we had no complaints about the lodge in its entirety and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in for a long while.

Overall, given the price we paid, we did not feel we received value for money however I would hate to put other people off before they do their own research - we realise that the accommdation wasn't suited to our tastes, and the check-out time really did ruin any chance of a relaxing last day for us. The fact we couldn't eat in the restaurant also added to our disapointment but we have said, if we had a large family event or plenty of places to be in the surrounding area, the lodges themselves would be a nice stay.

Room Tip: Our patio area was tucked away behind a hedge so had no view and our bedroom window looked out over...

Thank you for your comments and I was sorry to see that you were disappointed by some elements of your stay with us. Our estate comprises 27 acres of unspoilt parkland, with lovely views over the surrounding countryside and within easy reach of all that the area has to offer, with plenty of well tended grassed areas for sitting out and I was surprised to see that it did not live up to your expectations. Tables in our award winning restaurant are subject to availability and we do recommend that guests make reservations to avoid disappointment - we do our best to accommodate guests but I am afraid that when the restaurant is fully booked it is not always possible. We do make clear in our terms and conditions that check-out is 10am although we do offer a luggage storage facility and changing room facilities for those guests who wish to spend more time with us after leaving their accommodation.

We visited Duchally Country Estate today for the first time.I cant believe we didn,t know about this wonderful place.
We visited for lunch and everything was just perfect. This is a stunning estate and immaculately kept. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Many of them were young and I have not experienced such mannerly young people in a long time.
I would particularly like to commend Amanda and Kayleigh who served us lunch. In addition a warm thank you to the young lady who helped with the injured young sparrow we encountered on our walk round.
We are very impressed with the accommodation and plan to come back and stay.
Lastly the food was superb.
