We stayed at Braes Lodge from 16-19th February and absolutely loved everything about it! Mandy and Ian were lovely and made us feel most welcome, The lodge has EVERYTHING you could possibly need for your break, even the kitchen utensil drawer has more than we have at home! The bed is so, so comfortable and certainly makes for a good night's sleep. The views are to die for!!! The lodge is easy to find and if you fancy a wee afternoon out then the lovely wee town of Aberfeldy is only 15 minutes drive away and beautiful Pitlochry is only 30 mins in the other direction. We will definitely return. Thank you for a gorgeous, peaceful break!.
We stayed at Braes Lodge for 4 nights after getting married in December and will definitely be back! It is the ideal location for a relaxing get-away after a busy couple of months leading up to our wedding and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to unwind in the countryside!
On arrival we were greeted by Mandy who showed us around and had lit the log burner for us to make the lodge warm and cosy, and were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely welcome pack with a loaf, champagne, oatcakes etc.
Highlights for us were spending time in the hot-tub with a glass of fizz; we were even lucky enough to see shooting stars one evening! We also found we had the best nights sleep we'd ever had - so thank you Mandy for sending details of the bed supplier - it is amazing!
We explored Pitlochry and Aberfeldy, stopping in at local cafes for a coffee and did some walking nearby - the scenery from the Queen's View is stunning!
We recently had our second visit to Braes lodge which is quickly becoming one of our favourite places! Having stayed for the first time November 2015, we booked up to come back again at the start of December 2016. We arrived on the Friday evening to be greeted by Mandy who gave us a quick run down on the hot tub etc. and then left us to get on with settling in. As previously, the little welcome basket with oatcakes, bread, eggs, chocolate, champagne and other goodies was gratefully received and delicious. We had a wonderful time walking around Loch Tay, the Birks of Aberfeldy, and heading in to Aberfeldy where the Christmas Market was on complete with live reindeer! It was lovely and festive. The little Christmas tree in the lodge just added to the cosy atmosphere! Thanks again Mandy, we'll definitely be back :)
We were after a remote cabin in Scotland where we could really kick back and relax and boy did we find it at Braes Lodge.
As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Mandy, our host, who was incredibly friendly and welcomed us into the Lodge. Showing us around and pointing out how to use the log fire and hot tub. She had even set up the fire to get the lodge nice and warm for us and left us to tuck into the welcome hamper which included Champagne and delicious oatcakes.
Everything about the Lodge works so well together, from the cosy living room area where you can snuggle up next to the log fire during a chilly night, to the luxury kitchen which has all the best gadgets and appliances making cooking a sheer pleasure.
Should you wish to watch TV, then the Lodge comes has a great entertainment system with Freesat channels plus plenty of DVDs and Blu Rays for you to choose from.
One thing to note is that there is no phone signal at the Lodge, however, there is a payphone in the porch which is more than enough to book a meal at one of the many local restaurants (we recommend The Courtyard at Kenmore only a 15-20 minute drive and lovely food/setting).
A massive plus for this place is the hot tub which is just outside the french doors. When we stayed the weather was a bit chilly and drizzly but getting into the lovely warm hot tub was a great way to enjoy the scenery of Loch Kinardochy.
Another recommend 'thing to do' is to visit the Highland Safari which is down the road. There are lots of activities based from there such as cycling and feeding deer but also Land Rover experience and the Safari itself.
This place is such a great find and have already been recommending it to anyone and everyone - now we're planning when we will return next year.

Stunning lodge set in stunning scenery in what can only be the best place in Scotland for wildlife, walking and adventure. Travelling up from south west Scotland for honeymoon and can't rate the place highly enough. Great communication from Mandy the owner and it's kept in such a high quality condition it's great to see. Lovely welcome hamper, great facilities, hot tub looking over loch kinardochy enough said. Great walks close by. Some good restaurants in aberfely. Don't miss this place.
A relaxing three days spent in the lodge, early September 2016. Beautiful location, well presented property, attentive hosts.
Hot tub looking out across the loch was undoubtedly the highlight for us.
We came upon Braes Lodge by accident - and what a find! Am almost reluctant to post as it's a good one to keep secret! The location is superb if you want to get away from it all - Aberfeldy being the nearest town about 8 miles away. Accommodation was absolutely spotless and the lodge is superbly equipped. The 'always on' hot tub is an added bonus - especially after some serious walking - the tub helping to take away aches and pains. It's a great place especially for couples - very romantic.
