Sarah was a very friendly and helpful host. The room was comfortable and well equipped with nice good quality towels, toiletries etc. Breakfasts were yummy with scrumptious eggs provided by the obviously very happy and contented free range hens. On Sarah's recommendation we visited Ailean Chraggan at Weem for dinner on our first night and were not disappointed. The food was great, the manager Tony very entertaining and extremely knowledgeable about whisky. The meal on the second night, at Fortingall Hotel, was unfortunately not such an enjoyable experience, with us being asked to vacate our table before we had time to have coffee, despite not having been told it had been booked by someone else for a later sitting, not acceptable. However, this should not in any way throw a negative light on a stay at The Steading. We're not sure why it doesn't have a Scottish Tourist Board rating, but we would definitely rate it a 4* compared to other B&Bs that are rated and have no hesitation in recommending it as a lovely place to stay.
