“Good - but pricey!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013

This restaurant is situated on the ground floor of an old watermill (hence the name) with the rest of the building given over to a fascinating book and music shop. The menu is varied and provides food that is a little different to the average, but is well presented and delicious. The prices, however, are also above average, making for an expensive snack lunch. The service is friendly and swift, despite the popularity with both locals and visitors to the area, which means it can be very busy and quite crowded. The availability of reading material results in some customers spending considerable time over a coffee, which only exacerbates the issue. There is outdoor seating, which can alleviate the situation, but this is weather dependent. The cakes and pastries are fresh, but this does mean that they tend to run out later in the day. In general, worth a visit, but don't expect a lot of change!

“Crowded and lack of Food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

Visited this venue and found it, sadly like others, overpriced, poorly stocked and crowded. Crowded should mean its popular but think its more a case of snobbery driven coffee drinking. There was little choice of cakes (the choice being the left overs really) and crowding onto a table where you are only a couple of inches away from other persons is not my idea of enjoying the experience. Other nicer cafes and watering holes in Aberfeldy.

“What a find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

During a dreadful snowy day, when most places in Aberfeldy were closed, we visited the Watermill cafe. What a gem. A bowl of butternut and chilli soup was just what was needed, and a short break for 'something to eat' lasted for three hours while we browsed the wonderful book shop and the art exhibition. The owner was on hand with lots of information about the exhibits and the time just flew. Don't miss this lovely place if you are in Aberfeldy - and also don't miss the lovely cakes in the cafe.
