Description: A wee gem of a place, cafe within the bookshop. Excellent coffees and wide range of specialist teas. Very tasty soups and sandwiches. Well worth a visit if only to browse the books and music.

Rather than promising the earth with a huge menu, the menu was not lengthy but it appears that the Mill concentrate on quality rather than quality. We were impressed with our first visit so made another pilgrimage a couple of days later.

The Mill has a superb and busy atmosphere through the combination of a very good cafe with an excellent book shop in a historic building. Aside from filling our empty stomachs, we also filled our empty bags with books.

This place is superb!
The combination of a fanatastic book-shop, an art gallery and a lovely cafe all situated in a stunning building is unbeateable. It is truly a place worth making a detour to visit.
We went for a late lunch after a long walk in the hills near Pitlochry, and it was perfect. The soup was delicious, accompanied by very good bread and butter. We ate outside in the unexpectedly beautiful afternoon sunshine, which was ideal as we had a dog with us. The whole place had a nice ambience and the staff were friendly and efficient.
There is car parking directly behind the mill, which was very covenient (although watch the entrance to the drive, it is a tight turn).
This place is a delight, highly recommended!

Great place! It really does have it all. A wonderful gallery space with lots of interesting artworks. Several floors of books of every description for hours of browsing. Plus on the ground floor a wonderful cafe / coffee shop that serves wonderful coffee, cakes and small meals on a lovely terrace ( weather permitting) we were lucky and had a lovely sunny day and found seats on the terrace. It was lovely. Very twee and touristy ...yes but I was a tourist and I loved it.

Visited The Watermill after reading good reviews on TripAdvisor. The ambiance was nice if a little pretentious. I had the sun-dried tomato hummus with aubergine ciabatta and Garry had the lemon chicken with mango chili chutney ciabatta and a homemade lentil soup. At £6.90 per ciabatta it was on the expensive side, and the portions were on the small side for the price you were paying - that said it was tasty enough. The soup came out not hot, so Garry sent it back and it came out a few minutes later steaming hot and they kindly took some money off our bill for the trouble.
Afterwards we had a coffee and cake each. Both were very nice. Service was friendly and quick. Overall bill for 2 was £26.50 but they took £3 off our bill for the soup so it was £23.50. We would return for coffee and cake however would give it a miss for lunch.
