“A lovely hotel for families in a beautiful location.”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We've just come back from a two night stay in a 'top of the house' suite in the Moness Resort hotel. We had a lovely time and our two year old loved it. If you've got children, I'd highly recommend one of these suites as they have a separate living room where children can sleep so that you can have the evening to yourself! I thought the supplement was pretty reasonable to upgrade. Our room was huge and nice and modern. It was spotlessly clean. It would have been perfect if it had had a mini fridge as it was unusually hot during our stay and there was no way to keep water cool. Saying that, it was hard to fault it.

Our wee one adored the swimming pool - it's great for kids and nice and warm. The changing rooms were unbearably hot and showers too hot to use but this was probably down to the hot weather.

We ate in the Terrace Bar both nights of our stay and thought the food was good. The steak pie was delicious! We felt there was a good selection of (nice) pub type food to choose from. There was also a play area next to it to keep wee ones entertained.

There's a good play park and nice duck pond which my daughter enjoyed. You can buy duck food at the reception!

The staff were all really friendly and went out of their way to be nice to our wee daughter. I couldn't fault them at all. The only thing was the Terrace Bar seemed to be understaffed as it took a long while to be served. The staff there were still very friendly and worked hard.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk to Aberfeldy and in a nice quiet and beautiful location.

We'd love to return as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We have just returned from a midweek break. The hotel was somewhat disappointing. We can't quite put our finger on it, but there was something about the atmosphere we didn't like. Almost holiday camp like. Our room was in the main hotel. Nothing to get excited about. Stayed in nicer 3 star rooms. The beds were hard and the pillows harder. Both the room and bathroom where clean. We went to the swimming pool on the first night. The changing rooms were not clean. The drain was clogged with hair and the floor did not look clean either. The pool was ok not what we expected. I have been to a number of "spa" hotels where the pool is somewhere you go to relax, not have to dodge children splashing and shouting. There was plenty to eat at breakfast, with a choice of cereals or a cooked breakfast, staff were very helpful and always asking if we needed anything.

Room Tip: Not a place to go in the summer for a relaxing luxury break.

Thank you for taking the time to review Moness Resort. Although your own experience does go against the current trend, we are naturally disappointed to read the resort did not meet your expectations. That said, all feedback is appreciated and used constructively to improve the customer experience.

Have just returned from a short break at Moness Resort where we stayed in the main hotel. The rooms were beautiful , very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The pool was very good and there was lots to do for the 2 children in our party. Meals were delicious and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We'll certainly be back.

We had a two day stay here on bed and breakfast basis. the hotel and staff were first class you will find it very hard to find fault with this place Alas on the serious side of it This is an accident waiting to happen and one that could proof fatal for a child . They have in the pool area a hot tub it is unmanned and children are allowed to use it this tub is deep and hot there is no one but parents to oversee here. I just dread hearing on the news that there has been a tragic accident at Moness either at there poll area or unsupervised or attended Hot tub

Room Tip: Upgrade to a family room in the hotel well worth it

Thank you for your five star review, and for all your kind comments, however it is naturally concerning to read some of your observations. We have in all welcome literature and well signed in the leisure area clear instruction, that children under 15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult in the swimming pool and the sauna, steam room and hot tub are for over 16's only. It is also advised that the leisure area is not staffed. It is most perturbing to hear that people are not following these clear rules which have been put in place. Please be assured our guests care and concern are a main priority and we will endeavour to ensure that all our guests understand the importance and adhere to the company policies in place.

We stayed here for a weekend, with sunshine, throughout!
We were in Room 1, which is a garden suite room. This just means it is on the ground floor, with it's own door.
The room was very spacious, with a 2 seater couch (not very comfy!), an armchair and a few chairs. There is a small kitchen area, complete with fridge.
The bathroom was very big, but lacked any shelves, or a unit to store toiletries in.
There was one patio chair outside, which was nice for sitting in the sun. I did ask Sean, the duty manager, for another chair, however, apparently they had no spares!! Note- why not splash out on some more??
We ate in the bar on our first night, which had a good choice of food, at reasonable prices.
The second night we dined in the restaurant, where 2 courses cost £21. The food was ok, but, not worth the price. They had also ran out of Sauvignon blanc! Who looks after stock ordering??
The village is a short walk away, where there is a selection of pubs, cafes and a supermarket.
Overall, a nice place, which is worth a visit.
