excellent location and service! we had a foot of snow overnight and i asked if it would be possible to clear the snow around my car and they did!
Bar was "ok" very bright lighting which made us leave after less than an hour and the bar food is a little pricey for what you get, but apart from that the stay was thoroughly enjoyed! pool is clean and tidy, enjoyed the hot tub and especially the steam room! very relaxing! ahhh will definitely come again!

Room Tip: call the hotel directly, we were going to book through groupon, but got a better cheaper deal when w...

Me and my partner have just arrived back in Glasgow after staying 2 nights here at the Moness Country Resort in Aberfeldy, We got a great deal for 2 nights through groupon back in November for our 1 year anniversary.
We had previously checked the weather forecast for our arrival, and was told to be prepared for heavy rain, however when we were about 10 miles away we were met with heavy snow, which was better weather than rain.
The staff were extremely polite and helpful when we arrived and after finding our room we were welcomed with a big spacious double bedroom with a large en-suite bathroom.
We had a few drinks in the bar at the terrace, and was told to try out the local pubs for food and more drinks.
We ended up at a lovely pub called the fountain which done very nice and cheap food, and after a few drinks we headed home. We loved the bed, wasnt too soft or too hard, and having freeview on the television was great to relax.
On our first full day at the resort, we had breakfast within the hotel, nothing to complain about at all, the service was great and food was delicious!
Then we done an hour and a half walk to the Birks of Aberfeldy, which was more challenging in the 6 inches of snow we had.
I much preferred the snow, as it gave such a romantic feel to the whole hotel during the weekend.
The bonus for me was after our long walk around the Birks and through town, we could then go into the swimming section of the hotel, have a swim, sauna, steam room and best of all was the hot tub that managed to take away any stress that we have had from work.
That evening we had our meal in the Terrace restaurant, and was lovely, however, i had opted for the goats cheese with apple jam in a sandwich for a starter which ended up being bigger than expected and my partner for chicken skewers and only can with 3 when we were expecting at least 5. We then had a great large sharing platter which had everything amazing to eat.
Decided to head back into town for more drinks and possibly live music, but when we got to the pubs they were empty so decided to go back to the room, relax and watch a movie in bed.
The only downside to the trip was that during our last night at the hotel at 2:15am the fire alarm went off, all the guest had made their way outside, and after a while of waiting around, my partner and i decided to check the reception area to find out what to do, however, reception was closed and there were no hotel staff around to help us out, and it didnt help that no-one had phone signal incase it was a real emergency. After a while of standing outside in the snow, the alarm finally went off, and we decided to go back to our room without any guidance.
Our last morning, breakfast was amazing as the previous day and having a check out time at 11am meant we could squeeze in another session of the hot tub and steam room, to help waken us up a bit after having a rocky nights sleep that night.
After asking the receptionist about what caused the alarm, it was someone spraying deodrant too close to the smoke detector. So that was a lesson well learnt for next time we come back.

On the way towards the hotel we had taken the back roads through creiff, but were told due to the snow it was best to head for perth then back to glasgow due to the weather conditions. But we would certainly come back to this hotel. Lovely Staff, Great facilties and a wonferful modern, comfy room.
Couldnt complain about one bit of our journey!
Thank you for such a great anniversary weekend.

We stayed at this hotel for a romantic break in June 2012, quality of rooms are very good although bed was a bit hard.
There is a good walk nearby called The Braes of Foss which is very beautiful woodland with fantastic waterfalls and a statue of Robert Burns sitting at the water.
The hotel food was exceptional it really was but the chef was quite arrogant as we both complained that the dauphinaise potatoes were far too salty and he simply said no they are not! but the rest of the food was of a good standard.

The hotel is set in a nice woodland area which makes it very quiet and peaceful

my wife and i had a weekend break here in december, and it was absolutly brilliant,
the staff on reception were great, the bedroom was extremly large, the bed was huge but a little bit on the soft side, and the bathroom was great with a really deep bath maybe a bit to deep for my wife to climb in and out of tho, one wall of the bathroom was totally mirrored but not next to the sink, we ate in the resturant the first night there and could not fault it, the service was great and the food even better, the breakfast in the morning was good as well,
did not use the spa or the pool so cannot comment on these,
only bad point was-- they did not have a mirror beside the sink in the bathroom for me to have a shave in,

over all a very lovely place to stay and we will defo be back again,

Just returned from a two night stay with my husband. Cannot fault the place at all the hotel is lovely, food in the restaurant was fantastic, the leisure facilities were good and very relaxing especially the hot-tub. Also must give a mention to the staff they were all very friendly and cheery and nothing was to much trouble and that was all of them which in this day is quite hard to find. A great trip and will definitely return :))

Managed to get a deal off peak for 2nights, so was great value for money. We upgraded to a superior suite, not sure what the difference was, maybe the addition of a bath? The bed wasn't very good, too soft, and seemed very short for me & my partner. Maybe OK if your under 6ft...We had a nice view across a field, could see the stars at night, and found the room to be warm at all times. Too warm at times in fact! Tidy and clean on arrival, and in betweens.

Breakfast was excellent. A good variety available on the b&b basis. Food seemed fresh, local, and plentiful. You could stuff your face on croissants, and pastries if you like. Waitresses very friendly and focused on serving the guests.

The spa always quiet when we went, especially between 5-6pm, as its adult hour. Steam, and sauna, was great. Though the hot tub one night was a bit cold (someone set it to economy!) wasn't hot enough to sit in...when it was hot it was amazing after a long day on the hills.

We didn't eat in the restaurant, was an Xmas dinner special, so opted for the casual dining spot in the bar. Had a surprising nice fish & chips with our 'free' bottle of plonk. There's a few places nearby to eat out at in Aberfeldy, so walked to the Indian one night for a good feed.

Very good location, near the burks etc. We enjoyed our stay, the resort was what we expected, and made for a good base for exploring. Maybe in need of updating in bits, kinda mish mashed decor, but generally lovely!

I was lucky enough to stay in this resort for two nights. The swimming pool, sauna room and steam room was fantastic. It was a perfect break away and to top things off I treated myself to a full body swedish massage which was extremely relaxing. The food at Moness Resort was faultless. The room or should I say the bathroom was stunning with a nice deep bath. The one fault I had about this resort was that I found that the bed was very uncomfortable. However, the Moness Resort is the perfect place to stay if you are after a quiet, relaxing time with your partner or friends.
