“Very Good Stay - Groupon Deal”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

Stayed over half term in a 3 bed apartment. Was a little nervous having not done much research but decided to book based onthe price. Apartment was located literally 20m from the reception where you can access the pool and bar etc. Apartment was clean and had everything that you needed there were a few marks on the carpet but nothing i would get worried about. Overall really impressed with the stay and from a location perspective there seemed plenty to do. A couple of walks up the Birks of Aberfeldy which is straight across from the complex. A good 2 mile round trip with brilliant views. Played golf at Kenmore and then at Aberfeldy which was an embarrassing £5 for a 10 hole round! The course is really good and right along the bank of the Tay, £5 will be the best value golf I have played in a long time!
In terms of eating out we tried Chillies all you can eat buffet which was ok but what I was impressed with was the bar menu at the Moness. The food was really nice, fish and chips, burgers etc, good food and good value! Most importantly i would go back and for any prospective guests I would suggest this location is good for golf, walking and generally relaxing. Adding in some pretty good food be it on site or in the town (Watermill)

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Moness. We stayed in a cosy cottage within walking distance to the hotel. We had made plans to go out for our meals, but we ended up eating in the lounge/bar. It was so comfortable and the food was delicious and excellent price. All staff were very friendly and attentive. The bonfire and fireworks was an added bonus on Sunday.

The pool area was clean and nice to chill out in. The steam room is worth a visit - loved the lighting in it, most steam rooms are bright, this was dark with small lights that changed coloour.

I would recommend to use the spa, our treatments were excellent and the beautician provided some advice that you can do for yourself at home.

Will definitely go back, maybe in spring or summer so that we can use the balcony or terraced area to relax

We have stayed here a few times now and def think good value with the groupon, we would probably struggle to pay full price now. Unfortunately the fold down bed is not the most comfortable (we gave the girls the twin beds in separate room) and they had forgotten to leave us linen......... Cottage very clean and bathroom very modern and roomy....We were disappointed with the food in the bistro - just very average, £10 for a very average bowl of pasta. Kids menu okay........Drinks typical hotel prices (better to buy a bottle of wine!!)....Swimming pool and spa facilities good and clean. Good facilities for my 9yr old daughter she loved pool and table tennis but nothing for my 5 year old, She is too old for the little soft ball pool bit, would be good to see the return of the tv in the kids room, maybe some drawing pens and paper too or a games console for the inbetween ages. We love Aberfeldy , lots of walks, lovely shops. We were lucky to see the firework display on the night we arrived this was a nice added bonus.

Room Tip: I would pay a little extra for the two bed cottage now I think.........okay for short stay but not f...

We came here on a one-week timeshare exchange. Stayed at the Courtyard's "Pheasant" Cottage. It had recently been updated, was comfortable and well equipped. Just the big sofa was much too soft for us... once you sunk into it you could hardly get up again. WiFi access was available and worked OK but a bit slow (apart from one more major outage). The grounds were attractive and well maintained. We overlooked a duck pond and were amused watching the spectacle of countless mallards swarming the grassy hill in full formation while we were sipping on our morning coffee... The Terrace Bar offered simple yet tasty meals. For those looking for some "serious" excercise, the putting green offered enough challanges due to its high and relatively wet grass (my wife beat me every time - clearly the groundkeeper's fault). -
You do need a car in this area if you want to branch out. Driving on the narrow roads is something else, though. Nothing for the faint-hearted. Castle Menzies is just a stone-throw away and good for a short outing (on it's way you'll cross the historic Tay Bridge). On your way back, stop at the Fountain Restaurant in Aberfeldy`s town square for an inexpensive, tasty Bangers 'n' Mash lunch. This restaurant serves warm meals all day long (thank God), the only one the entire region. - Under an hour away are Pitlochry and the Blair Castle at Blair Atholl, both worth a day's visit and a pleasant drive... but try staying away from the road to Crieff if going south - it's awful, as is the scenery. You are better of taking the "long road" via Perth (A827 and A9)... and a much higher chance to survive ;o))

Room Tip: We would recommend (and stay again ourselves at) the Courtyard's "Pheasant" Cottage

Stayed at the resort in cottages with partner and young baby. A good time of year although annoying what my father pays as a member through timeshare compared to people getting cheap deals...and not paying electricity aswell!! Staff friendly and pool lovely and warm. Jacuzzi needs to be more closely monitored regarding cleanliness and women's changing rooms also have a bad smell. Overall though a nice peaceful break and we would return.

There's probably more romantic places to stay but the Moness resort is nice. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage and although the decor was dated it was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Our kids enjoyed the pool and other things that were around the place.

We stayed for 2 nights via Groupon vouchers.
We had a deluxe room which was clean and comfortable but not worth the full price.
The only complaint- there is no lounge to sit and have a drink.
There is a lovely walk opposite with great views and waterfalls.
Will return if there are other offers

Room Tip: Rooms in East wing were quiet
