Sandy was a fantastic guide, great knowledge and thoroughly entertaining. We'll definitely be back again next October.  We did the 'big five' in Kenya last year and my 14 year old son said given the choice he'd choose a week on Highland safari's instead!

Today we had a magical experience thanks to Highland Safaris. We took the 4hr tour and our guide was Catriona, delightful and very knowledgeable, and with a steady arm to guide my wobbly knees through the snow. We traveled from their base in the Village of Dull up to higher ground, the weather was kind and we were treated to amazing views. One of the first things we spotted when we got to the snowline was a herd of Deer being guided to lower ground by a Stag. We traveled even higher for more amazing views, careful walks in the snow, and a nice lunch in the Bothy of hot soup, bread rolls, slices and hot coffee. A memorable experience and highly recommended!

I used Tesco Rewards for myself and 2 children ( couldn't have afforded it otherewise) Catrina was our guide, she was very knowledgeable and great fun. We were lucky enough to see Hares and Red Deer and the scenery was stunning. It does get very cold on top of the hills so you need thermals and hats and gloves to be comfortable. Yes, as other people have said you go through a quarry/mine but the views make up for this and as my son is into Geology it really wasn't a problem for us. We had a lovely hot drink in the cafe afterwards, followed by the Deer Experience and Gold panning which kept us occupied for quite some time. All the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. We shall be saving our rewards to go again next time we are in Aberfeldy.

We took recently the mountain safari and had a wonderful tour - with the first snow on the top! -with our guide Sandy who was so nice, interesting and knowledgable, and very attentive to everybody. We met up with the people from the other landrover - guided by Catrina, also very nice - on the top in a cosy little cabin for cup of tea or coffee and a wee dram of local whisky and some local shortbreads. The scenery and the guides really make the trip a "hit" not only with us but also with our teenage son, and cherry on the cake, Sandy could spot with his telescope a stag surrounded by several females...such majectic animals!

After reading some of the less complimentary reviews, we were pleasantly surprised when we visited and had had the birthday present experience.
On arriving we warmly received, we had a lovely lunch at a reasonable price, the staff were very attentive, the gift shop, was well stocked (no tat) and affordable.
Our landrover trip itself was enhanced by the knowledge of our guide Colin, although the weather was not exceptional it was still a lovely day out and unfortunately even though there was little wildlife to see on this day, we still thoroughly enjoyed the trip...I particularly enjoyed my stint at the controls of the landrover ...its amazing where these sturdy vehicles can go!
All in all a great time...and to the negative comments, the experience is what you make it!..Thank you Highland Safaris!
