My boyfriend and myself stayed at Tigh-an-Struan Guest House for a couple of nights, for a friends wedding. The welcome was warm and it felt like we were part of the family, we were shown around then left to settle in. I asked when they would like payment and was told just whenever is best for me that there was no rush, i also asked if they prefer cash or card again i had the option and paid with no problems by card. The double room cost £140 for 2 nights in July and had an amazing view with an en-suit bathroom. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable, the only complaint would of been the bed covers had frills which did itch a little. Breakfast was really good with a wide variety and kept us going all day long. The area is really beautiful and would recommend anyone visiting whether its singles, couples, or families.

Our entire experience at this lovely guest house was exceptional. We were greeted by Pica -- the incredibly warm and hospitable owner/manager -- and she immediately made us feel at home. We vacationed as a group of 7 family members, and Pica remembered each of our names! The rooms were clean and well maintained. The bathrooms and showers were spotless. The beds were comfortable and roomy. The fresh English breakfasts were amazing! We enjoyed eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, porridge, toast, jam, bacon, orange juice and tea. Pica made sure that fresh fruit was always available for guests throughout the day and evening. The guest house is very well located. It is a short walk from a lovely putting green and playground -- perfect for our 3 kids. Also, it is an easy walk into town for dinner and shopping. My husband & I enjoyed the sights and sounds of a quiet running brook out our window. It was just beautiful. We hope to return to Tigh-An-Struan soon. It was truly our favorite accommodation on our European vacation.

Stayed for four nights. The hostess was very freindly and helpful. The breakfast was superb. The rooms and en suites were spotlessly clean and there was a hairdryer to save on packing. Tea/coffee making facilities in room and a lounge with fridge if you wanted to store your own items. The guest house is ideally placed for the town centre. It is situated in a quiet street beside the burn but is only a short, flat walk to the railway station, shops and the promenade. The view from some of the bedrooms, the lounge and dining room is lovely and onto the river. A short walk to the ferry for Millport. Basically, once the car is parked you really don't need it unless you are going out of town. We would definately stay here again.

This is what a B&B is all about...friendly staff responding to any reasonable request...very friendly, comfortable and flexible - these people take this business seriously and are making sure their guests leave very happy so they will spread the word and recommend it to their friends and other people - which we are obviously doing! This is not a huge place so early reservations are a must since they seem to be always busy - not surprising given their top reputation. Will be back! Thanks Pica, Marin and Alex for a very happy stay.

Room Tip: Reserve early

I arrived in the early evening having just packed up my life in Hong Kong not knowing where I was going. By the time I reached Tigh an Struan, my body was ready to give up. I was greeted by the manager, Pica, who let me come inside even though I looked like a train wreck. This was my last hope before resorting to sleeping in the train station. When she said she would give me her best room, it was at that point I thought I would either laugh or cry. I think what touched me the most was that she knew I was not just a random person off the street, but rather, I was somebody's child. She has taken such good care of me, you can see the warmth of a mother in her. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially when you're in need of food for the soul- There's an ambiance here that will satisfy that :-) Im off now on my next adventure- Where I will stay, I do not know. But if this great blessing could welcome me once, so I believe, it can do it again.

Well done Tigh an Struan, you were a part of a great picture. It is my honor to have had you added onto the magnificent canvas of my life :-) xxx

Fine location in a nice little town. Pica (the manager) was a delight, breakfast was excellent, rooms clean and tidy. Recommend this to anyone.
