“Excellent”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

The whole family recently dined in Scotts, Largs and the whole visit was excellent. The waiter allocated to our table was really great with a very nice manner and was friendly without being overly so and nothing was too much trouble. There was a delay between courses but not that you would be wondering when the food was going to be served -- it was actually good to let each course settle. We all thoroughly enjoyed all 3 courses with liquer coffees to finish. The decor and the ambience in the restaurant add to the experience. This is definitely one to be recommended and revisted in the not too distant future.

“Great food BUT NOISY”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

The food at this restaurant is excellent and beautifully served, booking is recommended. Service was a bit on the slow side as it took an hour to get our first course, but having said that the waiters and waitresses were very good and very polite. The restaurant was full and as tables became available were filled immediately. The only downside to this place is the low ceiling which makes all the conversations around reverberate, if they could baffle the ceiling for sound it would be even better, as our group were at a round table and we couldn't hear what the people across from us were saying which meant a lot of "sorry what did you say"!

“Well earned lunch break”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

My wife decided that I we had spent too much time working so dragged me off to Largs for a bite of lunch. For a change we decided to go to Scotts at the marina just south of Largs, close to the Pencil. My first impression was excellent. As we entered we were faced with a huge fish tank of exotic tropical fish. Very impressive and in very good condition! Not an easy task.
There was a reasonably priced two course lunch menu. I had a main of fillet of salmon in thai sweet chillli sauce. This was served on a bed of lightly spiced basmati rice and was very good indeed. My wife had traditional fish and chips with mushy peas. No complaints there either. For seconds I had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. I don't usually eat puddings but I think that this one will probably make me re-evaluate this ommission on future occasions. My wife had cheese and oatcakes accompanied by an excellent red onion relish. Tea and well flavoured coffee followed. The whole bill was less than pocket money and the dinner menu, similarly priced looked very attractive. The staff were great and very efficient. The only flaw was a lack of hot water in the toilet. That is the only thing that has prevented the fifth star. We will return there for sure.

Called for breakfast with family - the décor and surroundings at this restaurant are very welcoming - clean, contemporary and comfortable.

The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was of very good quality.

Well worth visiting.
