We had two rooms booked here, one was suitable for a disabled person. This particular room was fabulous, granted it showed signs of wear on the carpet and I believe it was to be refurbished soon, but, WOW! the pink sand, gorgeous rose gardens and the views over to the Firth of Clyde were stunning. It was a big double room with lots of space and huge windows to sit at and was fortunately was situated before the renovation work began. The other room was newly refurbished, modern and nicely decorated, big and very comfortable. The only problem for us was getting to the room. We had to walk through the current renovation work to get to our room, it was very dusty and noisy. We were informed of this before booking so knew about this but didn't know of the extent. This the only reason I have put cleanliness at average because the rooms were very clean. Lovely veggie breakfast, loads of choice and friendly staff. I feel like we have found a gem and will be back- probably after the completion of the renovations.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view - wow!

Excellent, as we were a late booking, having been let down by the Annfield who had belatedly given us back word on a booking promised. Evening meal in the bar good, and despite a wedding party being held, we were not disturbed. The hotel allowed us to leave our vehicle for a week free of charge as we were going on a cycling holiday via Arran and beyond. This was a bonus as the ferry was a flat, 5 miles distance, and there is CCTV coverage. The usual full Scottish breakfast was up to standard! Clean room and recommended! Can't rate the spa as we didn't have time to use it.

Got this as a one of deal on groupon great value. We upgraded and the room was stunning, got a suite. Food was out of this world and the staff where fantastic. We didn't get any spa treatments but the health suite was also very clean and the whole place had a lovely family feel about it and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend.

Nice hotel in a great location, probably the best and most friendly staff that I have ever met in all the hotels that I have ever stayed in. (Apart from one sour face behind the bar) We had two dinners and two breakfasts during our weekend stay and the food was very good. The only negative points , all minor on their own but add up to a bit of an issue. In the room we found a pill on the floor beside the bed and the sink was dirty. Then at dinner my wife got a dirty knife and I had a dirty wine glass. At breakfast the following morning a dirty cup and the outside of the fresh orange juice jug was greasy. Minor irritations aside I would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing break.

1st time at this hotel and was extremely pleased. The sea view room was excellent and the spa a bonus. The service at the reception was friendly and welcoming . We had dinner in the organgerie and the food was lovely and good value . Ambiance of the hotel is very relaxed and would return here again. We had the weather on our side which made this visit even more welcoming .

Room Tip: Sea view is lovely

Fantastic food and great value for money. The Hydro is a fabulous place to enjoy views of Arran with friends or family alike. The terrific views are complemented by lovely surroundings, both inside and out.

Room Tip: Beautiful scenery; definitely worth the extra for a room with one of the breathtaking views.

I had a two day break here last week. Check in was friendly and efficient; room was clean, well furnished but not exciting; spa was well maintained and obviously popular; views out towards Arran were (as always) magnificent; highlight was the Orangery Restaurant - welcoming, good range on menu at reasonable prices! Service was adequate on the first night and excellent on the second. Both mornings I really enjoyed the cooked breakfast, beautifully cooked and very professionally served. My room was on the second floor of the hotel proper. There is evidence (visible and audible!) that rooms are being upgraded. This is to be applauded, as the rooms (at least on that floor) seem a bit tired and dated. All in all, a very positive experience and a restful break.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are more expensive.
