Dear Jonathan and Allana,

I am so pleased to hear both you and your guests had a wonderful time celebrating Jonathan's 60th birthday at the hotel. The event its self was a pleasure to host and the staff are still to this day an probably will for a long time talk about the entertainment.

We look forward to holding future events with youself in the near future. Dont be a stranger.

Kind regards

This is by far the worst hotel Ive had the mispleasure of staying at. I last stayed here in 1986 when I was married. The downstairs public area has changed dramatically but it starting to look dated and a little grubby. However, the bedrooms are like going back to my wedding night except badly worn & tired and in much need of a refurb.
Check in is 1500 daily, great if your going to a wedding - not!! Since most weddings begin before this time, however, you can pay £10/hr to check in early - this is a great rip off as most customers either just want to get ready (maybe) and have a light snack before the event.
Seamill Hydro have a captive market in lack of hotels within the area. I certainly wouldnt stay there again as its cheaper to get a return taxi to my home than stay at this over priced Fawlty Towers.

Room Tip: Room 49 is a nightmare - bath filthy, carpets filthy and looks onto an enclosed court yard with air...

Dear Ronnie,

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at the Seamill Hydro.

As a family owned hotel we take the greatest personal pride in the business and are investing considerable sums in the future of this historic building, to date we have refurbished around 70% of our rooms. Due to the volume of business we have we cannot simply close sections of the hotel for the work to be completed, nor can we remove un-refurbished rooms from sale. We offer a 15% discount for these rooms as they are awaiting refurbishment.

Standard check-in time for many hotels all over the world is 15.00 we do however offer a service that should you wish an early check-in a nominal fee can be paid to prioritise your room with our housekeeping team.

Please also afford me a further opportunity to apologise for failing to meet your expectations and thank you for taking the time to bring these matters to the attention of the management and owners of the hotel.

Kind regards
Claire Palmer

We are just back from a marvellous weekend at Seamill. What a great location for a wedding and you are truly in the hands of the professionals. Norman and his team gave us 110% service, attention to detail, given with such a friendly style was really excellent. Well done Seamill. Oue son Scott, and new daughter-in-law Donna, could not have asked for such a marvellous start to their married life together. Thank you all very much ........and the sunshine was an added bonus.

A very disappointing experience in the restaurant where the manager accepted that the meal was not edible because the pastry was overlooked. We were told that they were going to replace the pie crusts on all the other pies, so subsequent guests should hopefully be OK, but for me tough luck. When the desert came it didn't reflect the description on the menu, again this was agreed but we were told that the menu was wrong. That explained it, but left me feeling that details were not the strong point here. Meanwhile, when checking in, we were told we were on the top floor. Asking where the lift was we were told there WAS NO LIFT, to which the receptionist laughed adding that it would help work off the dinner. If only the restaurant had served up something to make the climb worthwhile.

Thank you for your comments, as a privately owned business we take all guest feedback, both positive and negative very seriously. Our management team are a dedicated and hardworking group of professionals who work tirelessley to ensure every guest has an enjoyable experience. This is clearly evident by other reviews posted on this site.

We appreciate your comments regarding your dining experience however our steak pie has always been and remains one of our most popualr dishes. We are sorry you did not find this to your personal taste.

All our bedrooms within the main hotel building are fully accesible by lift, of our 20 suites 8 of these are ground floor accesible. We do our very best to accommodate all guests requests and had we been made aware by yourself, at the time of booking you required a ground floor or lift access room we would have been happy to accommodate.

Once again thank you for your comments.

We had our wedding at the hotel on 19th May and can't tell you enough how great the hotel is. Myself, 1 year old daughter and bridesmaids ate and stayed in the hotel the night before. We had our wedding ceremony& daughters naming ceremony out on the lawn followed by the reception in the Brisbane suite. We then stayed the night of our wedding as did most of our wedding guests and it was fantastic. Only slight problem we had was that there were not enough rooms on our room allocation and some of our guests initially couldn't get booked but this issue was very promptly dealt with and all our guests were able to get booked. All our guests and ourselves cannot fault the hotel in any way. Staff are very friendly and efficient and they ensured our wedding day ran like clockwork and nothing was too much trouble for them. Their attention to detail is brilliant. The location of the hotel is great-easy to get to and the views from the hotel are wonderful. The hotel would be great for anyone: families, couples, groups of friends, business - anything ! Hotel has most of the rooms refurbished but the unfurnished ones are still great.

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview room when booking.

Recently friends stayed here & we dined together on a Saturday evening. Pladda Bar ladies loos were in need of some attention from cleaning & maintenance staff. Reported this & it was promptly tended too. The food was lovely but really, very small portions. We actually all had an uncomfortable laugh about it. So much so that we were forced into having 3 courses & were still very very unfulfilled. Very pricey considering this & you would need to buy a heck of a lot if sides to make your tables meal complete. Such a shame as its a lovely place & staff are great. Would not return for ala carte that's for sure.

We recently returned to Seamill to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We had our wedding reception at Seamill in the brisbane suite.
The room was excellent with a lovely sea view. A complementary bottle of wine, chocolate dipped strawberries and a card had been left in the room to mark the occasion of our anniversary.
We ate in the restaurant, and the food and service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and couteous. The leisure facilities were very good and the hotel has a lovey setting.
