Stumbled across this great restaurant after popping in for a cup of coffee. After looking at the menu, decided to stay for dinner as the atmosphere and staff was so friendly and welcoming. As a couple with no children we especially appreciated the separate play area upstairs where children could safely take themselves off and and entertain themselves in the ball pit, safe in the knowledge they were being watched on CCTV by their parents downstairs! The service was quick and the food was really delicious at a very reasonable price - I have to recommend the chocolate mousse special that simply melted in the mouth. Staff were extremely helpful and made it a joy to eat here. I highly recommend eating here and would definately visit again with friends to sample more of the delicious menu.

We visited the bistro twice in one week. We were not staying at the Loft but a short walk away.

First time was for a leisurely mid week lunch. Spolit for choice but settled on cullen skink and duck. Very tasty. Extremely enjoyable. All round it was the nices mealout i had in the area over two weeks.

We returned a few days later for a full cooked breakfast. Excellent.

The menu is wide and even the sandwiches sounded appetising ( eg tuna with lime mayonnaise)

Went here while on a family holiday as there seemed to be things to do for the children. The place was empty when we arrived and so we looked at the menu. Another party came in but their food order was taken first. It took a while for the starters to arrive. The cullen skink was good but the haggis parcels were cold in the middle as was the sauce. We were a starter short which then took another 20 mins to arrive. The kids had their food and then went out to play. It took 1 hour and 10 mins to get our main course which was ok but nothing special. It was quite busy by this time but the waiter seemed to be the only person on and did his best. For what was served the food was overpriced and we wouldn't go back.

I am really sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your meal in the restaurant.
This is certainly not the normal state of service at The Loft.
I do hope that you decide to visit again and we can show you the service and food quality that we deliver.
We do ask any customer reading this to let us know if something is wrong during your visit and we can recify this at the time as it is never our desire that customers leave being dissatisfied.
