“A break from the norm”
Reviewed August 13, 2010

We arrived at Aaron House to a warm welcome from our friendly hosts, along with a pot of tea and freshly baked scones. Our room was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished in keeping with the Victorian property. We had a wonderful sea view, in fact we couldn't bring ourselves to shut the curtains at night so that we could wake up to it.
A delicious breakfast set us up for lovely country and coastal walks and we found a good choice of eating places nearby for our evening meals.
We would definitely recommend Aaron House to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay in a guest house with a difference.

Free your mind on the Isle of Man - and stay at Aaron House for an authentic, warm and witty experience. Ask for a room with sea view and enjoy the sound of the waves in Port St. Mary's cove.

Very authentic seaside B&B full of edwardian & victorian furniture but all mod cons, service excellent , brilliant choice of breakfast foods . Nothing too much trouble . The proprietors will book you a restaurant , car ,etc. Fantastic view over the harbour . Has to be one of the best on the Island. If there was to be any critisism there did seem to be a lot of movement and running of taps very early in the mornings.Would definately return

Exceptionally clean comfortable room with seperate private bath room. Very welcoming and comfortable victorian Town house with lovely views across Port St Mary and the bay. Idylic location, very quiet and peaceful. Friendly and helpful host & hostess always ready to advise & reccommend local attractions and amenities. A lovely weeks holiday chilling out & unwinding. Breakfast is something to really get excited about. It set us up for the day!
Very nice we would definately reccommend it to others and would love to go back.

A comfortable stay in well-presented room, with friendly and very attentive hosts. Money can rarely buy the peace and stillness of this seaside setting, and the breakfasts are a highlight of each day.

Well there are many reviews on here and some quite old but it's time to bring the comments up to date and confirm..nothing's changed! This is a wonderful hotel and one to be savoured! Reggie and Kath are first class hosts who put every effort into running this Victorian hotel to Victorian standards.... sparkling clean with crisp linen, comfortable beds, new soft towels frequently changed, fine genuine Victorian furniture and correct period decorations...they spent three years transforming it from a standard old house into a perfectly recreated Victorian mansion and the attention to detail is faultless!

So the breakfasts?...yes they are still the very best you will ever find. The bread is homemade, the preserves homemade as well. The cooked bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms etc. etc. are done to perfection and all prepared and served by Kath and Reggie themselves. The range of cereals etc leaves you wanting nothing more..except to stay another day..and another.

What don't you get?....noise, pets, children, a television in the room, a shower or restrictive rules about staying in or out all day. Remember the Victorians didn't have TV's, radios or showers so take a book and relax in the Slipper bath!

What do you get?.....a lovely warm welcome, good old fashioned comfort, loads of stories and fun from Reggie and a hint of Victorian formality from Kath (but with a smile underneath!). If you're a biker or motorsport enthusiast then Reggie is your man and very interesting with it. We stayed during the Southern 100 Races Motorcycle Event and several of the guests were long standing friends returning year after year and it is easy to see why...an Isle of Mann "home from home"..and Reg might "fix yer' bike" if you get troubles!!

You could stay in other places and they might be just as good...but the won't be like the Aaron because nothing ever would!

Don't bother reading more of this....just get on the 'phone and book now .....but leave a space for me!!!

Aaron House in Port St Mary is a really positive experience from start to finish. It is a small family run Guest House/ small hotel with beautiful views over Chapel Bay and the Harbour out to sea. All the rooms are unique. From Victorian parlour and breakfast room to the bedrooms, which have brass bedsteads and other Victorian furniture. We found the owners really appreciate old fashioned values and are warm and generous in their approach towards their guests and all the expected (and even) hoped for comforts.
Breakfast is all home made (bread too) and the best in Manx quality where possible. Tea and coffee and kettles are provided in the rooms. We stayed in Lady Isabella's room with a large very comfortable double brass bedstead. The room also has a soft sofa positioned to sit facing out to sea. Bliss! The central heating radiators all work and one evening, made the room very cosy when it became quire chilly. The ensuite is lovely with a (new) Victorian bath in all its splendour. The absence of a shower wasnt too inconvenient although we did pass comment on water saving and perhaps mobility issues for some.
We would have no hesitation in returning here.
