We used Aaron House for a base for an annual reunion and we were not disappointed. The place is charming. Reg and Kath made us very welcome. The breakfast was superb and freshly cooked. No microwaves and hot buffets here. Even the bread was home made. The views from the front rooms over the harbour were wonderful. If there was any criticism, it would be the lack of showers and a lift; but as the decor was genuine Victorian, showers were a minor issue. However the lack of a lift may put some people off. If you want somewhere restful and homely, this is the place.

Room Tip: Ask for a front room to get the views

Sue and I were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived,. Kath warn greeting made up for the rain and showed us to our very comfortable room overlooking the bay. Ideal to pull back the curtains in the morning and drink a cuppa in bed looking at the harbour and the bay and watch the boats bobbing about. We can also recommend the breakfasts, plenty of variety/choice,my particular favourite was kippers, followed by toasted freshly made home baked bread. Aaron House brought back some very happy nostalgic memories of my childhood, I stayed in the same house with my parents as a boy over 50 years ago, so really enjoyed chatting with Kath about the history of Aaron House and the past. Our only regret was that we were cheated of Reggie's singing, sadly he was away, one of many reasons why we must return and enjoy the delights of this very special 'gem'. The clear delight that Kath and Reggie take in their presentation and excellent standards of home made yummies is evident from the moment they wheel the tea tray over to your table to serve you. I would strongly recommend the Victorian tea rooms. Block out an hour or two because you will get caught in the ambience and not be in a rush to leave!

Aaron House, an authentic Victorian-style family-run guest house in the peaceful little coastal town of Port St. Mary, definitely deserves its 5-star status.

From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel at home, with tea and lovely warm scones with jam and cream on our arrival, and the whole atmosphere created by Kath and Reggie was very relaxing and welcoming.

Our room was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, and overlooked the bay and the harbour. We could even hear the waves breaking on the beach just across the road.

There was a wide choice of delicious cooked breakfasts accompanied by freshly baked bread and goodies as well as home-made jam and marmalade.

During our few days' visit in mid-June we explored the whole island by car on virtually traffic-free roads and nowhere did we have to pay for parking (a rarity these days!) We found plenty of interesting places to visit and the scenery was beautiful.

I visited here with my partner for TT 2013 and I have to say it was an excellent experience.

The moment we walked through the door we were sat down with a large pot of tea and told to help ourselves to some of the best home made muffins I have ever tasted while they got our room ready (We arrived very early)
Reggie and Kath are very welcoming, bending over backwards for the customers. Not to mention they're great to chat to. Reggie has been a senior TT marshal for years and is great to talk bikes with, and has a good sense of humor (Hopefully he'll read my crack about his singing)

The location is amazing, with views over the beautiful Port St Mary bay that can be observed from the lounge or TV room if you don't feel like sitting outside. There are also great views of the hills from the rear rooms if you're situated there too.

Local food is good, and I would highly recommend the Indian on the main road (5 mins away) or the pub located next to the Steam Railway station (10 mins)

Room Tip: If you really want a treat ask for a room with a bath, although the ones with showers are great too.
