For this welcoming guest house on Arran, John and Doreen most attentive...room was a sea view which was unexpected and very comfortable.., the beach opposite was wonderful and much enjoyed by our 7 month old puppy who was able to stay in our room....look forward to our next stay!

I booked 10 friends into the Burlington as part of our 3 island motorcycle tour.John and Doreen were most welcoming.
Our accomodation was very acceptable and reasonably priced. John cooked us wonderful breakfasts, he gave us lots of advice and is a great host.Sitting outside the burlington enjoying a beer, watching diving gannets is pure relaxation.John kindly offered to cook us an early breakfast
to help us with an early ferry from lochranza. Thanks to John and Doreen for a nice break.

Perfect location overlooking the beach, with regular wildlife events visible from the window, including gannets diving, porpoises passing and a dozen swans. The hosts know everything about where to go on the island to see various birds and animals, and also good advice on where to eat. The room was comfortable and spacious, breakfast wholesome and good quality. Wi-Fi was reliable and plenty fast enough for internet, posting, etc.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea view

John and Doreen make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. We were treated like old friends upon our arrival and were made to feel that way throughout our stay. From the best places to walk to the best places to eat, they were a mine of useful information - I am already missing John's breakfast conversations !
Their hotel may not be the best and yes it could do with some redecoration....but that's not the point....the welcome is warm, the service is good and where else can you go when the owners offer up their own binoculars, walking sticks or whatever they can to give you that wonderful Scottish welcome...enjoy the break ! And the breakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea front room...you can't beat the sound of the sea lapping against the shore whilst resting after a good day of walking.
