“Fine for reasonably priced meal at teatime.”
Reviewed June 8, 2012

4 Adults and 3 girls aged 10,5 and 5 on holiday in June we tried the Catacol Bay Hotel for tea one night. After trying to outrun the midgies, fast little devils that they are,we went into the cosy bar. Very friendly staff and locals, made the girls very welcome.
The menu had the usual pub grub but also a few variations with risotto, and a chorizo and chickpea stew. I had a venison and steak pie with chips which was very tasty.
Total bill for all seven , including 3 pints, several fruit juices and a bottle of house wine was around 80 pounds.

“Needs updating - but food's good”
Reviewed April 30, 2012

Stopped here for lunch - very quiet as it was a Wednesday - the outside looked rather off-putting as it does need a good lick of paint - however we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food simple but honestly priced and very tasty. Since found out it does an excellent Sunday lunch - definitely one to recommend.

“Special part on the Isle and great place to stay for a few days”
Reviewed April 10, 2012

I spend two nights in the hotel. The atmosphere is great and in the evening local people visit to bar to share common life experiences. The share bathrooms are spacious and the showers are great. The rooms are small and cosy! Stay away though from room nr. 3 for it is in the middle of the path next to the central entrance, shared bathrooms and the lounge room. The TV is next to your wall so it was too noisy and I was happy to move to room nr. 5!
