really enjoyed our stay here. The room was lovely and the food tremendous. The location is superb, just across the green from the sea. The best thing of all was the staff, they were so friendly and welcoming, really an asset to the hotel. Will be back!

My boyfriend and I arrived late because of ferry hoppings back from Jura. We arrived at the 'small' reception desk which there was a member of staff on reception who just walked into the bar and walked back out saying 'someone will be with you shortly' that shortly was 15minutes later! When we checked in the staff member was helpful by taking my bag up to our room for me, I think he only done that because the stairs are narrowly steep (I tripped down them from missing a step). You could get lost on the stairs also as they go off in one or two directions. Our room was 'snug' and awkward as it was in the roof (so not good for us girls when it comes to drying your hair) because of were the socket was. We had a side view and could just manage to have a sea view from there. The menu seemed on the expensive side so decided not to eat there. The breakfast selection was good though if you wanted a cup of tea you only got a small pot for a large mug. On leaving the hotel the member of staff at reception looked quite fed up! Not sure about staying here again.

I really can't find any fault in this hotel! We come back year after year when we are on the island for the annual 11th Scottish commando reunion. :) :) :)

Having been married on Friday, my wife and I had a mini-honeymoon in Arran for three nights and this was our first stop.

I was looking forward to this stay as the management's communication before our stay had been brilliant. Weather reports and room updates. These small details are appreciated.

We had a side-facing room that still offered a pretty good view of the bay and the hills beyond. We were really happy with our room. It married character and comfort really well, something which is not always easy to do. Our bed was comfort itself and the room was cosy and welcoming. I might have liked a safe as I was carrying a bit of wedding cash but there might have been this facility at reception. We never asked.

We had a drink in Lamlash - there doesn't seem to be much to it to be honest - and had dinner in the hotel. The food was really pretty good. I had some garlicky prawn thing and a thoroughly decent steak. I really enjoyed both and in particular my cheesboard made up of Arran cheeses.

They do have a beer garden and we were a wee bit concerned about a noisy night but they must ask people to come in at ten or so because our night was absolutely silent.

A great breakfast with fresh and local fare in a conservatory with beautiful views made us a little sorry to be moving on but we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a front or side facing room!

I've stayed here a couple of times in the last year and each time have experienced a warm reception, great customer service and lovely food. This boutique hotel's location is great, on the front at Lamlash. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are really comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. Can't wait to go back!

While on a visit to Arran we found this lovely hotel and decided to sit in their outdoor area and have a glass of something nice and just relax for an hour. We found the staff so cheery and friendly that we booked a table for dinner later in the day. When we went back it did not disappoint, the inside of the bar restaurant and lounges were great. Food was delicious too. Its location is spot on and we cant wait to return.
