“Immaculate hotel and sevice”

We crossed on the Cloanaig-Locrenza ferry, when we told the ferryman where we were staying he said " you wont be disappointed ", needless to say he was right!
We stayed at the Glenisle hotel for a couple of nights. We were lucky to be able to book the premier suite. It is the best room we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many home and abroad. The quality of everything, from the bed, the bath, decor, every little detail was excellent and the view was exceptional. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Every single member of staff was very friendly and they went out of their way to be helpful, they made the atmosphere relaxed but professional.
We ate in the restaurant on both nights, the food and service was first rate. Hardly surprising that there were non residents eating at the hotel both nights.
We shall definitely return sooner rather than later.

Fantastic location, beautifully decorated and the staff were very attentive. We ate in the bistro each of the 3 nights we stayed and the standard of food and service was excellent each time. We opted for a Superior room which offered a great view out across the bay to Holy Isle.

Arrived on a freezing cold and wet day. The warmest welcome from the friendly staff member - allowed us to warm our coats by the fire, and even told me about the local garage where I could get my flat tyre repaired! Delicious lunch, great for families. Hard to fault.

I stayed for an Easter Break. I was rather worried before going, due to part of the island being snowbound with no electricity. I needn't have worried because there was no snow in Lamlash and anyway they told me that should the worst happen-they have their own generator. I had a relaxing stay in a single room with an ensuite and plenty of fabulous food in the restaurant. The library with its own open fire was lovely and cosy, but it can get busy at times.
My mobile phone had no reception (Tesco)
I don't know which provider works best for Arran? However I used the hotel wifi (free) and so emailed friends and family. Overall I enjoyed my break and would go back.

This small but very friendly hotel is a perfect place to stay if you wish to explore Arran. The accommodation is of a very high standard and evening food is good too ( a butternut squash and chickpea curry for example). The lounge areas are welcoming and cosy (we visited during an exceptionally cold March) and in the summer it would be lovely to eat outside on the terrace. Above all though we had the impression that the staff genuinely wanted to ensure that we enjoyed ourselves.

Room Tip: We didn't have a sea or garden view but it would have been nice and worth enquiring about.

The hotel is ideally situated in the middle of Lamlash with fab views across the bay to Holy Isle. Open fires and a good bar, well stocked with local brews and whiskey, add to the ambiance. Food is above average - though more bistro than fine dining. Bar/lounge areas are comfortable, welcoming and most important relaxing. The staff work hard looking after their guests needs and provide a high standard of service. The rooms are well appointed, decorated and spacious. Little extras like a pair of binoculars in our bedroom showed thought and attention to detail. However, there was a toilet waiting to be installed, sat in the lounge next to a chair - it really should not have been there. The best though was the breakfast. Best breakfast I have had in a hotel for a very long time. Most important - it was piping hot. Highly recommend this hotel even though it is quite expensive for what it is.

Room Tip: We had a standard room and I have had superior rooms which have not been as good as this. Our room h...

The Glenisle hotel is situated in Lamlash on the Island of Arran, easy to find sat overlooking the beautiful bay in Lamlash and Holy Isle.

The hotel is a bar and bistro, is very well presented inside, has a relaxed vibe to it, open fires, a great snug room (overlooking the bay) and very welcoming staff.

The food they serve is excellent, a small, but perfectly executed menu with just enough pizazz to bring excitement to their great range of locally sourced ingredients.

Also, breakfast has a couple of treats such as their own take on porridge (which includes cream and whiskey! And is rather good.....), a freshly cooked selection and locally made jams.

The rooms are nicely decorated, well kept and clean with plenty of information on things to do in a handy information folder.

The bar stocks local ales (the Arran Brewary, which are excellent) and a range of Arran whiskeys (distilled on the island). They are knowledgable about these and have tasting notes for a quick peruse when required!

The staff were excellent and made our holiday even more enjoyable, with advice about where to go, where to hike (and what to drink!)

All in all, this hotel is a good enough reason by itself to vist Arran. Highly recommended.
