Really dissappointed with this hotel especially as we took friends along. The bedrooms and apartments we booked were grotty. Full of dirt and dust very basic facitities. Bedding quilts etc horrible. Only good point was the food was just ok and the breakfast was nice. Would never return or recommend.

We were given a small suite with two twin bedded rooms, sitting room and bathroom at street level and had to go outside to access the hotel for breakfast. It took us a while to unravel the Venetian blind pulls so that we could shut out the street light outside and have some privacy in the bedroom. It felt like stepping back 40 years and was family beach holiday accommodation. Breakfast was good.

Excellent wee hotel! Staff were so friendly, room was clean and a great size! We booked a small double room for an excellent price, we weren't planning to spend much time in the room so we weren't really bothered about size/view etc but what a great surprise we got! 'Small' double room was very spacious and we had a beautiful sea view!! Restaurant down stairs had a great atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff and a delicious menu which would suit anyone. Was pretty busy down there so I'm glad we booked! The bar down stairs also had a great atmosphere and was well stocked. Even though the bar and restaurant were busy you couldn't hear a peep when in our room so we had a great sleep. Can't fault this hotel at all to be honest. Hopefully we'll get a chance to return to Arran at some point next year and when we do we won't hesitate to stay here again :)

Nice place for families. Perfectly quiet and good location. Staff (I think a lady which served us was the owner) couldnt be more helpful. Apart from great service in the hotel, she gave us a lift to Brodick, as we wanted climb Goatfell. Also She offerred us a lift back if we'd need it. Hotel wasnt modern, just the basic, but we didnt need nothing special. as we wanted do some hill walking. Nice bar and restaurant inside the hotel. Couldnt be any closer to the shop. Room was quite big and very clean. Overall was worth the price we paid, and we got much more than we paid for.

Room Tip: Try book room on the sea side. Beautiful view when you get up in the morning!

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in October 2013. Room was ok - clean but could do with some upgrading. Great view from room of the sea. We also had dinner one night which was average. Staff were friendly and service was good overall.

Arran, a fabulous little island less than one hour Cal-Mac sail from Ardrossan, Ayrshire. While planning our trip we found a lot of good small/medium size hotels on the island to choose from.
WE MADE A GOOD CHOICE!!
Lamlash is a quaint superb of the bustling metropolis Brodick and a very short 3 mile drive away from the Cal-Mac Ferry Terminal. Lamlash looks directly over the bay to Holy Island and our chosen hotel, The Lamlash Bay Hotel, was even better than it looked in the photographs.
On this occasion we were travelling with our two Dalmatians. Both dogs really like waking up to a seaview. We had narrowed it down to a choice of two hotels. The Lamlash Bay Hotel and The Douglas Hotel. As the management at The Douglas Hotel didn't even have the manners to reply to our enquirey the choice was down to just one hotel and I'm delighted that we chose The Lamlash Bay Hotel.
The hotel was spotless throughout. The staff were first class during our stay. The food was fantastic and being Italian orientated it really suited us. Our large front facing room ( room 6 ) was really a suite. Large, well furnished and it had panoramic views over the bay, to and beyond Holy Isle. The en-suite, although not huge, was as well appointed as the rest of the room.
The hotel is owned and managed by husband & wife team Ian and Liz who have the place running like clockwork and the atmosphere in the hotel is excellent.
The next time we visit Arran we will be going back to The Lamlash Bay Hotel. It's luxury at value for money prices.

Room Tip: Choose room number 6 if you get a choice.
