My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit here in early September. The weather that evening was fairly poor but we received a lovely warm welcome from a young man who showed us to our table. From the service at the table, the delicious food, to the ambience of the dining area, we were most impressed. It was our best dining experience of the six nights we stayed on the island!

After travelling all day we were very hungry so opted for the early bird menu. Although slightly less choice than the full a la cartel menu it nevertheless had a good choice at a reasonable price.

The rabbit bridie was delicious and the cauliflower and hazelnut soup a lovely change, accompanied by home made bread. Mains were corn fed chicken and lemon and courgette tagliatelle. Only one of us had a pudding, the traditional raspberry cranachan and I was so full, I didn’t even pinch any with a second spoon!

The service was relaxed and friendly from the owner and all serving staff. All in all we can highly recommend.

Recently ate in this establishment on a trip to Arran. This was a return trip to this restaurant although it is now in new hands albeit the decor, etc. in the eaterie as it was 5 years ago. They have got rid of the huge blackboard menu which is a plus but I think this has detracted from the ambience of the place. The prices are a little a steep as well - two starters, two main courses, one cheese board and a bottle of wine was just under £100. Good service and the food iteslf was very good just a little expensive.

Hi
Thank you for your time.
We are so glad you liked the food. We have significantly reduced the prices from the previous owner and now use premium ingredients. Our menu offers a variety of dishes to suit all budgets.
We also offer an early bird deal which is 2 courses for £19.
Best wishes

Four hungry cyclists descended on this restaurant last night. Scallops starters was perfect, pork main course to follow was top drawer too. All the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. £25 for a steak is a bit bonkers but if I fancied steak I would have gone for it. Arran has several good eateries and this one is highly recommended.
