We arrived and we were met by a breath taking view of the sea and beach. The hotel was lovely rooms where nice. The food was gorgeous and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were only supposed to stay for the one night but we ended up booking another night so we could be there for the bonfire which all the locals were going to be at on the beach. So glad we did!! was a lovely display of the fire works and we all loved how well the community come together for it, specially having the fire men light the bonfire and fire works. In Glasgow were i stay this wouldn't happen so was nice to see and be part of. I just wish the rain didn't get heavy when it did. Over all we all hope to be back next year for bonfire night. I should mention there is a bus stop that stops right out side the hotel which is very handy. If you are feeling up to exploring i would recommend going to see the Kings Caves.

My girlfriend and I stayed here this week on a voucher deal having booked last minute.
Access to the hotel is easy from the very, a straight simple, scenic drive accross the island. Cant have taken us more than 15 mins. The Hotel seems to be the focus of the small and pretty village of Blackwaterfoot so it is easy to find by the shore as you drive in.
All coresspondence prior to the trip with the hotel was incredibly easy and friendly, offering advice about the ferry, driving etc.
On arrival, the reception is very welcoming, as are the bar staff. While our room was not ready, the bar manager offered us a scenic table and a drink while we wait which was very nice.
The decor is traditional and fitting, not high end but the place is always very keen and tidy. My only improvement suggestion would be upgrading of the lighting, restaurant could do with some more ambient lighting whilst breakfast room lighting is too dark. The rooms are well proportioned with good facilities (tv, kettle) and bathroom, plus a good hot shower. Its good that when offering "sea view" rooms, they are providing just that; a fantastic wide window view of the sea and islands. The beds are two combined singles but tightly put together so no noticeable crack in the middle, very comfy with proper duvet.

The Hotel seems to subsidise its relatively low room price with a very strong restaurant encouraging lunch and dinners, especially as there is not much else in Blackwaterfoot in the evening. The bar staff are always keen to offer/reserve tables for lunch and dinner for guests. The lunch menu looked good, hearty gastropub type food although we didnt eat lunch we did have 2 very good dinners. Wines and beers are fantastic with a very extensive selection. The most impressive element of the menu is the range, catering for all budgets. There is also daily lunch and dinner specials which were lovely, quite seafood based and kept the menu varied. They tended to be the costlier choices but were worth it.
Breakfast is served in a separate functional suite to the restuarant. Some people have complained in tripadvisors that it would be nice to eat break in restaurant with superior views. However this is obviously tricky as breakfast room is set up night before. Breakfast is again varied and good quality with attentive service, full cooked offering of everything, all done well!
One improvement; You have to ask for some items (poached eggs) which is understandable. However I do feel you shouldnt need to ask for fruit but that fruit should be put out on display.

The leisure facilities probably need some upgrading to really be a romantic/spa weekend type of hotel. The pool was warm and functional. Good for familities but not particularly high quality. There is a good squash court, gym and pool table which was all maintained quite well.

An excellent base to explore Arran with nearby golf course and the Kings Caves and Stone formations. The hotel is relaxing, with fantastic views and is really made by good attention to detail and friendly service.

We arrived straight from the ferry to see the sunset, here was the hotel, we asked for a room and got a very good deal, suite on top floor looking on the sea, with the children in a separate room.
The children liked the swimming pool and we enjoyed the hospitality, the food, and the walk on the beach: the hotel is large and clean and the personnel honestly friendly, the place is very quiet and scenic.
The food was not extraordinary but then bar and hotel seem popular among the locals...
Wish we could have stayed longer

We took advantage of the hotel's midweek break offer which includes bed, breakfast, a £20 per person evening meal allowance on the first night and the ferry crossing for both passengers and a car. All this came to about £260 and is even less over the winter months, an excellent deal. The hotel itself bears the Best Western name but is locally owned and managed. It is situated with nice views across the Firth of Clyde to the Mull of Kintyre in the village of Blackwaterfoot which is tiny. Don't go there is you want nightlife, in fact it is probably best if you avoid Arran altogether if nightlife is your thing. Otherwise it is as good a place as any to act as a base for discovering the island.

The staff are lovely, very chatty and helpful. The manager is very visible and very keen that you should be enjoying your stay. And enjoy it we did. The room was perfectly nice and spacious, there were plenty of electrical sockets to plug your mobile phone chargers into (other hotel chains take note) and wifi, which was surprisingly quick, was available for free in all rooms (other hotel chains take note again). Our bed had a mattress that was a bit on the lumpy side but otherwise we were perfectly comfortable and, being at the front of the hotel, got the view of Kintyre from our window.

The food was good. Breakfast was a buffet with a decent selection whilst the evening meal was excellent. It is nothing too fancy but nicely done and the portions are generous - beware of overdoing the starters! Prices are reasonable too for both food and drink despite this appearing to be the only venue in the vicinity that is open in the evening.

There is a pool which is open to the public, a tiny gym and a billiard room. We didn't sample the delights of these facilities but they looked fine.

When we return to Arran this hotel will definitely be the top of the priority list.

We had gone to Arran for the day, as I had never visited the island. After a long walk in the sun to see the Standing stones at Machrie, we were keen to have lunch and a cool drink.

We stopped at the Kinloch hotel, where we both chose the steak baguette, which we both enjoyed. After lunch we continued our tour of the island and over the String Road. At Brodick, still enjoying great weather, we decided to stay over. I'd researched some hotels just n case, but we decided to return to the Kinloch hotel.

We got the last room, which we expected to be a bit dodgy, but it was lovely. (And the manager went to the trouble of checking it out first, as some work was in progress in the hotel). It also had a good view over the sea to Kintyre.

Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast. The staff are very friendly and professional.

Perhaps the only down side is the hotels popularity, and the need for the staff to set the breakfast room for functions later in the day. But I would rather have that than be in a hotel no-one else wanted to visit.

Several years since we had been to Arran so we were pleased to get a great deal which included the ferry crossing. Had a lovely room looking over the water. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Manager always around speaking to customers. Food was very good but a little disappointed that the restaurant was only used for breakfast and we had to eat in the bar area in the evening which was rather noisy as it was so busy.
