Beautiful views, huge portions of good food, very friendly and helpful staff. All in all, a very good short break on this lovely island.

Room Tip: Twin rooms face the sea, singles don't.

Came here for Easter weekend with Hubby and our three wee dogs. Stayed in self catering accommodation. We couldn’t have asked for more. Spacious rooms, very clean and everything we needed. Only one thing let it down and that was the very firm mattress. Cleaner comes in daily even though we were self catering which was a lovely bonus. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location. We have been to Arran many times and will be back at Kinloch hotel in September.

Just back from a wonderful weekend break on the beautiful Island of Arran. Stayed at the Best Western Kinloch Hotel in Blackwaterfoot. Hotel has a very family friendly feel with welcoming staff and great facilities. Rooms were bright and spacious, with modern light wood and crisp white linen, bathrooms spotless, big fluffy towels and Arran Aromatics toiletries. A new menu had just started and offered a vast selection of varied and tasty meals - from Cullen skink, to Burger and chips to Seafood. Delicious! There is also a kiddies menu with bits to colour in (keeping everyone happy) Swimming pool a little dated BUT so warm, didn't want to get out. Staff really friendly, helpful and nothing ever too much trouble. Can't wait to go back!

Superb views from bedroom across sea to Mull of Kintyre. Seals on rocks outside window one morning. Being few guests, breakfast was OK, but no croissants and the bread rolls were not terribly exciting. The scrambled egg, however, was very nice. (Scottish breakfast was cooked to order).

We stayed in the hotel to eat on our first evening, but were disappointed with the choice in view of the reviews we had read on this site. The only food available was "pub grub" ( scampi and chips, fish and chips, fish pie, steak pie etc.). We therefore ate out on the other two nights of our stay - Arran on a Plate in Brodick was excellent, although very quiet at this time of year - in spite of a two for the price of one offer.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean and spacious, however, the heating went off during the evening one night. We informed reception of this in the morning. The weather in February is not ideal for "camping" - no heating and washing self and hair in sink after boiling water in kettle! I must say that I was very surprised that management did not do a little PR and just leave a little note or something to say sorry and thank you for bearing with us. (I note from other reviews that the boiler not functioning has happened before).
The other little niggle is that the hotel only supply toiletries on the first day. As the hotel charges the same per night, I believe this to be unacceptable - unless further nights are at a reduced rate. Because hotels normally supply toiletries daily, I do not tend to take these when I travel anymore!

The pool was out of use whilst we were there.

I stayed here for one night last October. I would have loved to have stayed longer. The hotel was fantastic. The area was very quiet but you didn't feel cut off from the rest of the island. It's situated next to cobbled beach which boast fantastic views over the Mull of Kintyre. The rooms were clean, modern and light. The bed was particularly comfortable. For me though, the best aspect was the food. Full scottish breakfast, lots of choice. Evening meal was lovely. I doubt I will be going back to Arran (a day or two is enough to explore) but if I do this will be the hotel I stay in.
