We took the tour bus from St Andrew Sq which has an interesting commentary about things you are actually passing on the way. eg Victorian and Georgian architecture. We arrived and got on the "Forth Belle" cruise boat and had a very nice 90min cruise or so. Again interesting commentary. The boat stops at Inchcolm Is but we didn't have the time to get off. We were lucky with weather and on a day like that the tour under the bridges is well worth doing.

What a Fantastic feat these Victorian builders achieved, the design has stood the test of time and will be with us as an iconic example of groundbreaking thinking.

Went over the Forth Bridge on the way to Deep Sea World and the views were fantastic even on a overcast day.

If you are visiting Edinburgh I recommend travelling by train just for the experience of travelling over this brilliant piece of engineering.

You can view the railway bridge close up by parking at either end, indeed the views are better here than those available when you cross by train. Apparently walking tours are available, but not on my day of visit.

Travelled over this amazing iron bridge to get to Deep Sea World and then after that had lunch outside the Albert Hotel with the colossal bridge right behind us. Its inspiring to sit in the sunshine eating and drinking and looking up at trains passing by overhead every 15 minutes and be totally awe-struck at this beautiful and iconic landmark! It has a presence in reality which you just dont get from seeing it in a postcard!
