Booked a party in the function room. It is very nice, food was lovely and the staff were fantastic. Ideal location though parking can be hard but fine to park on yellow lines overnight. Booked a few bedrooms too and they do need a bit of tlc but perfectly adequate. Overall the staff friendliness, service and warm homely feel made it an enjoyable experience. The restaurant is nice too for an evening meal or lunch.

This was the first stop of a 100 mile walking journey up the Fife Coastal Path. The town is really cute and it is dominated by water and the famous Forth Railway Bridge. Not much time passes between trains and in just a short time, we were able to identify which direction the trains were traveling just by the sound. Be aware that the entire town is noisy when the trains pass through.
The coastal path entrance is opposite the hotel and the Deep Sea World Aquarium is also just around the corner so this is a great location for exploring this area.
The hotel is not new; it is a bit tired looking but it is fine, a little snapshot of times past and it covered our basic needs. Our room was clean and comfortable and so was the bathroom. There was a huge, overstuffed chair in our room that, had it magically disappeared, would have given us more floor space. I think we'd always prefer more space to having extraneous furniture.
We looked out onto the bridge. I could not help going to the window when a train went by; it was so neat.
it was great to be in town & walk to attractions and restaurants.
The staff was helpful; wifi code was provided and they also made dinner reservations for us when I requested this a few days before we arrived.
We also ate lunch here and breakfast... no complaints! (Lovely large fish and chips at lunch!)

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face the bridge if you think the roar of the trains might bother you. T...

We visited North Queensferry on our journey to Edinburgh and enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Ferrybridge Hotel.Excellent value and service and I would recommend a visit to the Ferrybridge Hotel for lunch or dinner if you are ever in the area.
North Queensferry is a small village on the edge of the river Forth and is situated under the magnificent Forth Rail Bridge. It is easy to visit from Edinburgh. By car you would experience crossing the road bridge or if you wish you can take a train from Edinburgh to and from North Queensferry. This does involve walking down and up a steep hill to and from the station! There are adequate parking facilities in the village and when we visited the village there were no parking charges.

My husband and I stayed at Ferrybridge for one night. We had dinner and breakfast included. Both meals were delicious and service was acceptable. Although the room was pleasant, the overall impression was that the place was run down. We rather enjoyed the train traffic and the area is lovely to walk around but I don't think I would recommend it or stay again.

The village of Queensferry is totally dominated by the Forth Rail Bridge, you can't miss it visually or audibly.

We stayed at the Ferrybridge Hotel because of the bridge.

The hotel interior has a dated feel to it, the bedrooms 6 in total, seem decent size and well equipped, well ours was (Room 5). The decor was a little dated and tired and in need of a little TLC.

The rooms are at 1st floor level, in a "modern" extension to the main hotel, the ground floor being a large function room. The rooms are either side of a corridor, so 3 rooms face the bridge and 3 don't, I should imagine you would hear the trains in all rooms, if you want the view ask for a room overlooking the bridge.

We visited in May and it was very quiet, I suspect that after the restaurant closes (kitchen closes at 9:00pm) the public bar will close. We came back on Saturday night at just turned 10:30pm and the place was in total darkness. Although they provide a key to a side door for such occasions, so this was not a problem.

We had a very good meal on our 1st night in the restaurant, no complaints, did not manage a desert due to the generous helpings for the main course.

Breakfast was adequate, but by modern standards lacked choice you come to expect, but if you want a "Fried Breakfast" it was good.

The big plus point is the price as at May 2013 it was £65 inc breakfast for a double room, for the price excellent value.

North Queensferry is about 25 minutes outside Edinburgh by an excellent train service.

We travelled into Edinburgh by train,

Here is an hotel just at the start of the Fife Coastal Path, or the end depending on the direction of travel. A great place to stop off for a drink or a meal. Situated under the Famous Forth rail Bridge with views of the Road Bridge and the New Bridge under construction. The ideal spot for some memorable pictures to remind you of the day.

We had lunch here. My steak pie was superb with plenty of meat, lovely gravy, light & crispy pastry with perfectly cooked & glazed vegetables and a pleasant mash. My friend had a fish pie dish and was equally impressed. However, the interior of the place is pretty shabby with ripped seats, poor carpets and really needs brought up to date. The service was alright though nothing special. We really felt this place has an excellent chef though is missing a trick with the interior and service.
