“Great things in wee places”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013 via mobile

Setting and ambiance lovely. Intimate and inviting.

Lovely welcome, lovely table.
Started with the duck was mmmmm, succulent, lovely flavours and nice presentation. My partner had mussels which were delightful. Then we both had the venison. Wonderfully cooked and a treat to the eye. Tastes superb. Washed down by a lovely glass of cab sav, very smooth and bursting with flavour.
Pudds next. I ordered chocolate fondant but sadly wasn't available but they did offer chocolate brownie alternative which was delightful. Not to stodgy as sometimes expected of brownie. Cheese board was lovely too if you like cheese lol.
Service was good. A single handed crew out front, but efficient.
A totally enjoyable evening.
Well done.

“I just love it!”

This is a very good restaurant. The food, ambience and service are of a very high standard indeed. I have eaten here both at lunchtime and in the evening around 5 times in the last 3 years. It's been consistently good. The location is great, in picturesque North Queensferry. It's not cheap, although the lunchtime deals are excellent, but you don't get quality like this for pennies.

“Fab and charming...”

Lunch with friends, amazing little restaurant ... Fab food, great wine and really good service...
Amazing looking and tasting food - great wine selection too... We had the lunch fixed price menu, great value for what you get... With the added bonus of a few extra specials too...
Amazing view of the Forth bridge too if you venture just a little bit further down the hill... A great hidden little gem...
