Based on other TripAdvisor reviews, we booked lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's. What a great experience it turned out to be. You gather before you reservation time, where you are assigned a room that you will dine in. Then they ring the dinner bell and they start calling the rooms. Once seated in your room with your hostess (who dines with you) and several other couples/families, you run through introductions and start eating some of the best food ever! It really is good old fashioned hospitality as you share your recent adventures with the other travelers at the table. While the menu changes daily, we had meatloaf (best we've ever had), fried chicken, a delicious squash casserole, green beans, potato's, rolls, cooked apples (soooo good), sweet tea pie and coffee. We did not leave hungry. Be sure to explore the whole house, as it is a real boarding house and quite historic.

This was our second trip to Miss Bobo's. Once again, we were placed in the dining room downstairs. We asked the hostess if would could be placed in one of the upstairs dining rooms. She graciously rearranged and moved us. We prefer the upstairs dining to the rooms downstairs. The food is wonderful no matter where you sit. The tables on the main level only seat 10. So, it's easier to get food, have a conversation, etc. We also enjoyed our hostess for this dining experience. She was very personable and provided lots of details about the house without overwhelming us with information. Our group didn't have much conversation, and that was okay. When you're with a table of 10 people that you don't know, the conversation can go anywhere. My husband was thrilled to see fried chicken appear on the table. It's his favorite. You can't beat their squash casserole and fried okra. The cooked apples are simply out of this world delicious! We always enjoy our trip to Miss Bobo's. It's worth every penny and every calorie!

We sat with 10 other people. We all sat at the same big table you have an older lady who was our dinner hostess. It is supposed to be like it would have been in the day of a boarding house. We had fried chicken, meatloaf, salsa, green beans, red potatoes, apples, broccoli rice, rolls, and fried okra and tea. It was served family style pass the bowls. It was not to bad but the chicken was mostly wings and drumsticks. It was not bad and it is an experience. However, I would not do it again. *******Make reservations!!!!!

This is our second time eating at Mary Bobo's and we weren't disappointed again. The table hostess was delightful with her stories of Miss Mary. And the food....oh my goodness! The fried chicken was so yummy. We also ate our fill of pinto beans, friend okra, cream corn, meatloaf, squash casserole and chess pie. I really don't know how we were able to walk to our car! I can't wait until our next visit!

It is worth the stop just to experience the restaurant and it's history. The actual food itself is served family style on a rotating table in the middle of the larger table that approximately 10 people sit around with a hostess. The food was just ok and reminded me of a mediocre buffett. One stop was enough but I am glad we experienced it.
