We took the tasting tour at the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, TN, and followed up with a walk around the quaint village square. Most of the shops seemed to be themed to the local product and at Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiasts. We had reserved seats at the second serving of the mid-day meal at Miss Mary Bobo's and were rewarded with an excellent meal and fascinating dinner companions. The food was simple country fare, but excellently prepared and in quantities that left no one hungry. Our table was blessed with a charming docent who regaled us with the history of Lynchburg, the distillery, and of course, the boarding house. The part about the meal that was so fascinating was to listen to the other guests, their backgrounds, and their observations of this part of our country. Of the ten guests at our table, two were from Austria, one from Israel, and the rest from all areas of the US. Their backgrounds were diverse and their observations struck chords of resonance in all of us as we listened and contributed to the conversation. We are looking forward to sharing this treasure with friends who come visiting.

If I say what I normally would say about this place, I would only be repeating what every other person who wrote a positive review about it would say....AMAZING. Read the others reviews, they are highly accurate with the detail in the experience, the food, and the treatment. I will surely return and it was a very unforgettable experience. Our hostess was Mrs. J.Robinson, she was just a very warm and pleasurable person to listen to and eat lunch with. She was very knowledgeable about everything and did a very great job keeping us entertained. Thank you Miss Mary Bobos for a great afternoon treat.

Family style dining in individual rooms of historic boarding house. Now owned by Jack Daniels group. Menu varies each day but they always have baked apples with a touch of the local liquid. You share a table with others and a hostess who gives some history of the area and keeps the conversation going. Enjoyable experience.

Was in Tennessee to make as much of the Jack experience as we could so obvs Mary BoBo's was on the list. We made sure we booked in advance through Facebook - It's very busy! We made sure we did the 10.30 tour at Jack and followed it up with a 1pm booking here - perfect timing at you've to be there 15 mins before lunch. Once you are there you give your name over and are allocated a room (there are several up and downstairs) - very well organised. We all went to our room with our host and sat round our shared table. We then got down to eating the southern food which was very nice and a good atmosphere with our fellow diners. We're from the UK and lots of different things to try. Thought the cooked apples were my desert but actually you get a desert to follow. Was my husband's birthday trip which I had mentioned on facebook so they stuck a wee candle in his and we had a wee song for him lol. Really good experience and really worth doing as part of the Lynchburg experience! We stayed at Tolley House B&B too which was excellent too - try it out!
