We came here on a saturday at 3pm. There were an hour waiting before our tour. The tour was excellent. Not only did you get the history of Jack Daniel. You also got to see the Water spring that caused Jack Daniel to be situated here as well as the real production facilities and how Tennessee Whiskey is made. Our guide was funny and knowledgable and she was able to answer all the strange questions. The only thing I could have wished for was a tasting at the end, but we had to do with lemonade.

The Jack Daniel's Distillery tour is well worth it. We elected for the free tour over the tasting tour which worked for us. You get plenty of good wafts of mash and 140 proof whiskey being filtered through the sugar maple charcoal. We purchased bottles of the Single Barrel Select at the end and enjoyed some when we returned home with our friends. Our tour guide was a sweet 'young' lady who provided us with the history and how the whiskey is made - all very informative with laughs thrown in for good measure. The grounds and distillery are well groomed and maintained with a very nice visitor center. Plan on spending a couple hours for the tour and another hour to explore 'downtown' Lynchburg. Totally worth your time. Thanks Mr. Jack!

One of my best friends always talks about him being the so-maniest visitor at JD's distellery and he got one share of ownership and an awesome loyalty program. So on my trip through Dixieland I just had to visit the distillery. Wow! This is true heaven to every Jack lover worldwide. Bought too much at the bottle shop of special bottles and later in town at the gift shop. My women had to stop me!!! Real bonus on my four week tour in the South!!!

We were on a road trip. On this leg we were going from Nashville to Jack Daniels then to Memphis. We wanted to do the Tasting Tour. We got there at 1030AM. They told us the earliest we could get a tour was at 1pm. They said we could "go get lunch" while we waited. With the tour being at least an hour and a half this would mean spending the entire day in Lynchburg. Sorry but the small town next door just isnt that interesting and not worth straying from our road trip. We ended up just circling the info in the lobby then leaving. They need to develop a much more efficient tour system and let people book in advance. They don't. This added hours to our trip, was a waste of time and we could have done a lot more things instead. Maybe this is for you if its directly on your way and you feel your life will be enhanced by spending hours in Lynchburg.

We had a great tour guide. It was very interesting to see how the whiskey was made. @ 1/2 mile walk but at a reasonable pace. You can purchase tours that include tasting. Our guide was well informed and we were treated to a lot of tidbits regarding the history of Jack Daniels various products.
