Catriona and I took an elderly friend on a trip to this place one warm sunny afternoon.
Beacuse of the weather we decided to eat and drink al fresco and it was a wise decision -- almost.
We ordered cream teas and were astonished at the ginormous size of the scones!!!!
They were excellent and almost too much for yours truly to manage.
The table service was polite and friendly and it was also efficient -- we didn't have to wait long to eat and drink.
The one downside of the outdoor eating facility is that smoking is permitted. One rather selfish and inconsiderate woman sitting at a table upwind of us lit a cigarette whilst we were still eating. Ugh!!!!
My plea to the management is ban smoking completely from your entire garden centre.

Why you might ask?
I live near Leven and have been going to the Tranquility cafe, at Freuchie garden centre for years.

The best cup of fresh ground coffee for miles around bar none.
The food is always fresh, very well prepared, a great selection and reasonably priced.
There's a comprehensive menu and a great selection of cakes and scone's etc. Watch out for those Meringues....You'll know what I'm talking about when you see them!

The service is always good and the staff very attentive.

Expect it to be busy at lunchtimes though,it's busy for a reason.

Highly recommended for a great lunch or just popping in for a good coffee.

Don't look in the cake display unit! You have been warned!.......diet's a gonner then!

We went early for lunch, having been several times for coffee and knowing it is always a busy place, and all tables were full by the time we left. Lunch was excellent, as was the service. An extensive standard menu is complemented by daily specials. Prices were very reasonable and portion sizes extremely generous - my dining companion had to request a "doggy-bag" to take home the remainder of her portion, although we subsequently found that you can ask if your dish is available in a smaller helping. The decor is somewhat basic, but then it's part of an established garden centre, not a purpose-built restaurant.

Come here quite often ,the place is always busy as the food is really well cooked at very reasonable prices.Service is quick and friendly and the sweets are huge and always fresh.Food for 3 main courses and round of soft drinks just £21. Pity the restrooms are so small but clean and just adequate.

Had some lentil soup here today. It was tasty.
But have you seen their cakes??? They are enormous!!! The meringues look like they would feed a family of four!!! No joke. I had a lemon lush cake which was light mousse along with some pouring cream, yummy.
There's also a friendly wee cat who gives you head bumps and kisses too, which is an added star haha.
A nice wee asset in Freuchie.
