Everytime we have been here the food has been fab.Can be hard getting a table at times,we have learned to book in advance! Cannot understand the couple of bad reviews, but you get that with anyplace. So if you want cheap food, big portions, tasty, and in a lovely village.Book a table soon :)

Booked for a big family meal, very friendly staff, main meals £6 and are very generous, all seems home cooked, lasagne was good and everyone else's looked fresh and great too! Will definitely be back

lots of food, cheap, and you don't care about flavor, service, or atmosphere, this is the place for you. The two servers dealing with the locals seemed friendly enough - to them - but the young woman assigned to our table began by slamming down a pint on the table with copious foam spilling out of it and was pissed off that we had the temerity to ask for napkins to clean up the mess. When the food was delivered in a similarly sloppy manner - with a nasty "thanks", she was halfway across the room before we could ask for another beer, and was pissed off about that too. The scampi was frozen and flavorless, the so-called tikka masala was chunks of chicken mixed with a little boring sauce and plopped on top of a mountain of rice. In the two years we've lived in Scotland, this was the worst pub we have ever visited. Never again.

basic, honest, no nonsence food. Take a big appetite with you to cope with the potions, best roast beef and yorkshire pudding I've tasted for a long time. Not fancy just basic and honest.

We arrived to find the pub completely full and asked if there was any way to seat us. Luckily there was room at the bar and we were told that it would be ok if we wanted to eat there. My wife and I both ordered the Steak Pie and were stunned with the size of the portions we were given. There was sooo much food and it tasted like heaven! The beef melted in your mouth....it was so delicious. I highly recommend eating here. You will not be disappointed. Almost forgot to add that it is ridiculously cheap too. Our meal was only 6 pounds.....what a steal.
