Dining options: Dinner, Reservations
Description: The elegant modern dining room has a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Short hand-written menus change frequently, as they are based on local seasonal ingredients. A concise interesting choice ensures that each dish is prepared individually for each customer, allowing for great attention to detail. The restaurant is an ideal place to book for a private party to celebrate a special occasion, birthday, anniversary or an intimate wedding. Set tasting menus are tailor-made to the diners choice. The restaurant can accommodate special dietary requirements easily, as everything is home-made - just let us know in advance when you book. For example, we bake our own gluten-free bread for coeliacs. If you require a vegetarian menu or have any other dietary requirements, please let us know when booking. The wine list offers an interesting reasonably priced selection, hand selected affordable quality wines to compliment the food.

We have been eating at Ostlers Close maybe 3 to 4 times a year for the past decade. Jimmy's food has never been less than delicious and is always beautifully presented. Amanda ensures that the table service is top-notch, and her wine recommendations are appropriate. Jimmy does the best scallops in Fife! and Amanda's desserts are exquisite. The atmosphere is warm and friendly - the moment you step through the door the whole environment exudes a feeling of welcome. Highly recommended - not just for foodies, but for real people too!

What a great evening we had celebrating my mother in law's 80th birthday. In fact the wonderful welcome started the week before when I booked the table. I had mentioned that my mother in law was in a wheelchair and Amanda was so helpful, even suggesting where we could hire one for a few days.

This little restaurant has a great front of house and was very welcoming. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and dishes were adapted to suit our different tastes. One of our number likes his food plain and that was taken into consideration. We had little amuse bouche of fish soup (vegetable soup or other fish was offered too). The starter courses included turbot, wood pigeon or tomato and goats cheese. Main courses were venison and wood pigeon, hake, tiurbot, scallop and John Dory. Our son does not like mushrooms so the mushroom sauce with the venison was replaced with a plainer sauce.

The food was really well cooked and beautifully presented. We always had what we needed and it was a lovely meal. If only we lived near here, we would definitely eat here again - it would become our local.

Come here and have a lovely time amongst friends.

A hidden gem....after a short trip with my husband on business, we decided to stay with friends in Cupar before our drive down to London and onwards home to France. The food, the wine, the service was amazing....one of the loveliest evenings I have had in a long time....Huge huge thanks to Jimmy and Mandy Graham.

We have eaten here lots over the last 3 years or so. This lovely little restaurant is hidden in a small 'close' and can be easily missed. The food is always delicious and served hot, on hot plates (rare these days). Amanda always takes great care to ensure all diners are happy and often adapts the menu, offering alternative choices should the need arise.... who ever does this??

We are always given a very warm welcome.....like old friends which is lovely.

Jimmy sources local produce, always ensuring a mouthwatering choice for diners, sometimes it's very difficult to choose as all dishes sound fabulous!! Puddings are a must..... Especially Amanda's steamed pudding, my particular favourite is plum pudding with home made custard and a small scoop of home made ice cream ..... Delicious. You must give this restaurant a try, Michelin quality and friendly without the stuffiness.

Be back soon and thank you x

The food was an absolute delight and they bent over backwards at accommodate all tastes; slightly altering the menu for my son.
The flavours were exquisite, presentation second to none and attentiveness excellent.
Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.
