We thoroughly enjoyed our four-day stay in Crail. From the moment we booked Crail Harbour View we were treated to an efficient, friendly service by the owners who provided clear, well-written details of what to expect in the flat and how to get there. Despite the very cold March weather outside It was a warm apartment - as well as full central heating there was an additional 2kw electric 'log burner' fire in the sitting room - but we didn't need it because the apartment was so cosy. There were two Freeview televisions, one in the sitting room and a further set placed to cover the dining room and also the kitchen. Despite its compact size the kitchen was extremely well equipped, containing everything one could need for a holiday stay - even a washing machine and a dishwasher. Also lots of storage space for luggage in the main bedroom wardrobes. Every room contained original pictures - owner Jo is an accomplished artist. I mustn't forget to mention the 'welcome tray' which greeted us in the dining room - lots of interesting complimentary goodies including wine (plus fresh milk thoughtfully left in the fridge along with fresh ice cubes for drinks). There was roadside parking adjacent to the property but for those without a car, bus stops for each direction with an hourly service were two minutes walk from the front door. For last-minute provisions there was a Co-op supermarket plus a family butcher's within short walking distance. A big thank you to owners Frank and Jo for a great stay!
This is a gorgeous apartment and we felt very privileged to stay in a place with such an special outlook. We felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. The colourful decoration and artwork makes it a bright happy place for a break. We appreciated the many books, games and DVDs in the evenings. It is one of the best thought out and equipped places we’ve stayed in.
The bedroom was quiet and so comfy that it was difficult to peel ourselves out in the mornings, but we managed to eventually and walked the coast path to Pittenweem on one day and Kingsbarns on the next. We had a great meal in the friendly Golf Hotel which serves excellent ale. There’s a great whole food shop, other quality food shops a handy co-op 5 mins walk away. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in such a lovely little flat!
