“Old working harbour”

Quaint town with working harbour. We visited on a windy/rainy day so didn't fully appreciate it. Still, nice to look around.

“Gorgeous Harbour”

Beautiful. Take your camera and walk the coastal path round to Roome Bay.
Nice tea room on the left as you walk down to the harbour.
Sometimes lobster and crabs for sale.

Lovely harbour with old stepped breakwater wall, small sandy beach, creels, boats and benches a-plenty.

“The star in East Neuk's crown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

There are many small fishing villages along the Fife coast of the Firth of Forth but none, with the possible exception of Anstruther, can hold a candle to that at Crail. Parking up town (there is no vehicular access to the harbour) and walking round the Castle terrace and down the hill provides magnificent views of the Firth and over the small and virtually unspoilt harbour. The fishing baskets and cobbles on the ancient quayside and the small fishing boats anchored within the protection of the seawall have an almost Victorian air about them, that feeling of history being enhanced by the virtual absence of modern vehicles. Linger awhile and savour the view, there are few better not only in this area but in Scotland as a whole.

“Beautiful little unspoiled harbour.”

Lovely walk down to the harbour either passing some beautiful old houses or the top way by the small castle and parapet.
