Just a quick review to say that we had an excellent two night stay at the Waterfront in late August. The rooms are large and clean - the beds are massive - and have everything you could want. The location, right by Anstruther Harbour is perfect and allows exploration of all of this part of Scotland. We visited St Andrews and a number of other lovely coastal towns during our two days. If the weather allows this is a fab place for coastal walking and the walk from Anstruther to Crail was excellent.
Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent, lots of choice and large portions to set you up for a day out. I have to recommend the smoked haddock with poached eggs! We had one evening meal in the restaurant which was also very nice with lots of fresh seafood to choose from.

Excellent stay and excellent value for money. Only minor negative is if you have noisy neighbours the sound proofing in the room could be better!!

We stayed at The Waterfront for one night. I expected a large room with view on the sea. The actual rooms however are on a courtyard, in an airco-outlet alley. The room was very small but well decorated - we recognized the IKEA signature. The quite unfriendly and unpersonal service was un-scottish in our opinion. The breakfast was good, serviced in the reataurant.

We try very hard to please everyone but as this review states, "He expected a sea view."
This was a family room that other advisors have given us 5 stars.

We found this place after walking out the awful craws nest after a 5 mins stay, and how glad were we!the receptionist led us through the back to the harbour view apartments and we were given the large en suite double bedroom. The room was decorated to a very high standard, with the largest kingsize bed ever!the bathroom was just as large with a walk in shower and lovely jacuzzi bath tub!we had a flatscreen tv with freeview and the bedroom windows looked onto a lovely little courtyard. The only complaint we had was at first we were cold and there had been no heating on,so we had to investigate the apartment corridor, find the boiler and give ourselves some heat!haha!
however we slept late the next morning until check out and didnt expect to have breakfast, but nothing seemed a bother, and we were treated to the residents choice of breakfast before we left!great place and will defo consider going back with the whole family!

Very nice courtyard. Location is super.

Room is not big but nicely decorated. In room 4 you do not have a nice view as their is only one window which is partly blocked by a cupboard. This room gives out onto the yard.

Bunkbeds for the kids are provided with a TV (each) and you can get headphones from the reception. It is possible to make your own tea/hot chocolate in your room. There is a hairdryer too.

But the hotelwalls are so thin you can hear every sound through them, so a bunch of hotelguests arriving at 3 in the morning and keeping us awake till 4 was not the most positive experience.

Breakfast / restaurant area is nice with a view on the harbour.
If you want to eat out here in the evening, booking your table is recommended as it gets pretty crowded.

We were lucky to have the en-suite room in the Harbour Views Apartment for Homegame 2010 this year and WOW it was fabulous. Great location, beautiful setting. We had a lovely large room with a huge bed and jacuzzi bath which was a very nice treat. The Staff were lovely and friendly and down to earth. The breakfast each morning was delicious.
I would reccomend this to anyone and would like to come back for a visit another time in the year and sample the restaurant as well.
I want this as my base for Homegame 2011 and will be doing my best to make sure I do.

We went to Anstruther (7 ladies) to meet up with friends from there and they booked us in here, absolutely fantastic, our welcome from Pat and Chris was terrific, you felt immediately at home. Pat showed us to our rooms and we had the whole place to ourselves, one room on the ground floor twin excellent, second twin on 1st floor again excellent, and on the third floor this room could sleep 5 people it was like a little suite, triple beds then via a corridor a double bed, would be a superb family room. Accommodation very high standard and very clean. Price very reasonable for the quality of service and rooms. Breakfast was very nice, help yourself to cereal, yoghurt and fruit juice, waitress took your order for tea/coffee and toast then your order for breakfast, and after a heavy night at the town hall and Legend Pub a full breakfast was ordered, yum!
Kevin from THE WEE CHIPPY just along the road booked us in here, Anstruther is def worth a visit and would highly recommend you stay here. Next time we might try dinner there, but you just have to try THE WEE CHIPPY as voted Scotlands Best Chippy.
To Chris, keep up the good work and excellent quality and we will def be back.

Were through for the Fife Jazz Festival as per last year and tried to book the Smugglers, but found it was in administration, so decided to try the Waterfront. Great setting just beside the harbour, immaculately maintained courtyard garden, and from what i could see a choice of rooms with internal courtyard views or external harbour views. An absolutely brilliant little B and B. Room was spotless, comfortable and cosy, only thing I could fault was a lack of a remote control for the tv, but we weren't there to watch the tv!! Staff were very friendly too and the breakfast on Sunday morning was a great spread, I haven't seen anything like this outside an all inclusive in the Caribbean. A choice of strawberries, oranges, grapes or bananas, all cereals and porridge and then a selection of cooked breakfast options from eggs any way to smoked haddock, kippers and all permutations up to and including the full Scottish. Pots of tea and coffee and juice and plenty toast, butter and selection of preserves, absolutely brilliant, would thoroughly recommend it and will be booking next year for the 2011 Fife Jazz Festival. Well done to all at the Waterfront!!!
