We first heard about Room with a View at the Inverkeithing fish shop and were beguiled by the menu and the location. Apparently there was no road to the hotel until relatively recently and the guests arrived by boat and conveyance. The road down the cliff is narrow winding and steep with just a hint of danger. We had a scallop roe bisque as an amuse bouche and then tackled the difficult choice of the starters and main dishes. We settled for smoked salmon mackerel profiteroles and chilli crab tartlet - mouthwatering and for the main courses halibut with caviare in a citrus flavour sauce and monkfish tails with sage and onion stuffing, looked a perfect picture on a big square contoured white plate, we didn't need a camera as the picture of the food lives on as a perfect memory. For desert we had marmalade icecream floating in an expresso and white chocolate and raspberry mille feuille. The whole experience was magic and thoroughly to be recommended.
