“Sunday lunch treat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014 via mobile

My sister was visiting us from Crieff and took my husband and I out for Sunday lunch at the weekend. We reserved a table so we would be certain of getting in when we wanted. We all chose the carvery which alliwed us unlimited starter of soup and/or salad followed by a choice of roast meats with acompaniments. We all started with a bowl of salad - there was plenty to choose from to cater for all tastes and plenty of different textures too. My sister and I chose gammon and my husband the roast beef, which was overcooked for my liking. I had servings of red cabbage, peas, carrots, green cabbage and a few small roast pitatoes. I did not have mash, boiled potatoes or Yorkshire puddings. Plates were not very warm meaning hot food quickly cooled but aoart from that I can hobestly say I enjoyed my lunch. We did not have pudding as references to "squirty cream" send shivers down my spine and I wasn't prepared to risk choosing something I would not be able to eat because of its appearance never mind anything else! However praise goes to staff who provided me with a jug of tap water with ice and lemon rather than a single glass.

“Good for families”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2014

Visited here for a Sunday lunch with my parents, siblings, my partner and her kids.

Its a place I've been going to in various guises for almost as long as I can remember. In a lot of ways it typical of what you'd expect of a Brewers Fayre, not fine dining but decent pub food. Certainly a step up from the likes of Wetherspoons and suchlike. Importantly, for our visit, there's a pretty good kids menu, with plenty to choose from. Liked the looks of the various buffet nights during the week. The bonus card is probably worthwhile looking into too, my mum has one and we got the two kids meals for free thanks to it.

Food was of a decent standard, plenty of choice, service was fast and friendly enough.
