My sister was visiting us from Crieff and took my husband and I out for Sunday lunch at the weekend. We reserved a table so we would be certain of getting in when we wanted. We all chose the carvery which alliwed us unlimited starter of soup and/or salad followed by a choice of roast meats with acompaniments. We all started with a bowl of salad - there was plenty to choose from to cater for all tastes and plenty of different textures too. My sister and I chose gammon and my husband the roast beef, which was overcooked for my liking. I had servings of red cabbage, peas, carrots, green cabbage and a few small roast pitatoes. I did not have mash, boiled potatoes or Yorkshire puddings. Plates were not very warm meaning hot food quickly cooled but aoart from that I can hobestly say I enjoyed my lunch. We did not have pudding as references to "squirty cream" send shivers down my spine and I wasn't prepared to risk choosing something I would not be able to eat because of its appearance never mind anything else! However praise goes to staff who provided me with a jug of tap water with ice and lemon rather than a single glass.
