“All a garden should be”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

The entrance to the gardens is really like going into a private house, and a beautiful spectacle awaits. Hidden behind a huge garden wall there is an old greenhouse with interesting plants, and a unique little library to which visitors contribute boks that they have found interesting.
The garden plants are varied and there is some interesting statuary. Built on a slope, the ground could have proven difficult for wheelchair users, but attractive landscaping has resulted in easily accessible pathways. Allow at least an hour.

“A must visit for keen gardeners - or just a nice place to sit and watch the world”
Reviewed August 18, 2010

The little patch of peace is hidden behind big walls - full of interesting plants with a large expanse of grass and a pond.

The conservatory is worth a look some pretty finches and budgies to watch.

Open all year - small enterance fee - run by national trust for scotland.
