On a rare business trip to this part of the World I was pointed towards staying in Gifford and its 2 hotels. Gifford itself is an interesting place and the Goblin Ha' is a major part of this village. The room with en-suite shower I was given was reasonably sized, clean and comfortable. In addition to the usual teas, coffees and biscuits was a small flask of sherry - a nice touch. The breakfast (full Scottish) was huge and kept me going for the rest of the stay. I chose to eat in the bar - which seems popular with locals - food was very reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Breakfast is served from 8am - probably a little relaxed for an early business start.

Spent one night stay for two of us in this lovely village . The Goblin Ha' was perfect. Friendly staff and friendly locals too.
We had dinner...good selection of food on the menu and all reasonably priced.
Our room was just perfect for us. Street facing, small ensuite toilet/shower. TV, kettle and best of all.....welcome tray with sherry and chocolates (see photos)!
Breakfast was served in the conservatory and again a good selection on offer. Plentiful portions too.
All staff were superb, friendly and all looked as though they enjoyed their job! A rarity these days! Local CO-OP across the road and open until 10pm for groceries and alcohol.
Huge conservatory and garden area to the rear of the bar.

Stayed here at the weekend. Room was very clean and had everything needed in it. Had dinner both nights in the hotel. Food was absolutely amazing. Staff were lovely- very helpful. Breakfast was also really good. The latte was the best I’ve ever had!

In a small village, parking aside the goblin hotel, up the stairs and there we found our small room, but nice and clean. Breakfast at your choice served by our friendly hostess . A nice terrace for a drink and on the road again.

Traveling for business so at least expected a table and chair in the room. No signal for tv for duration of stay (no remote should have been a clue). Lived out of case lying on floor- no place to stand it. Room decor very shabby. Hand basin cracked and sink blocked.
£95.00 per night for 4 nights. Very poor return for bed only - where do you get your prices from? Have since heard the place referred to as a dump - can’t disagree with that.

Room tip: Fix the floor or somebody will end up going over and having an accident
