“A wee hidden gem”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

Got a deal thru 5pm and what a deal it was. Hotel was beautiful. Grounds r well looked, lovely.
Room was very nice although our roof view was not so nice but could still get a glimpse of the loch so all good. Bathroom needs a wee bit of TLC but nothing major.
Staff were very good, especially in reception and restaurant. Staff in bar were pleasant enough but slow to serve us drinks. Food was exceptionally good, breakfast fabulous with lots of choice,
but kitchen staff please shut your door if your going to swear as customers can hear you, not nice especially out of the mouth of a female. The older lady, at breakfast, sorry never caught her name is an asset to your hotel.
Now for the spa, where do I start we never had any treatments we just used the facilities. We were the only ones using it and it was wow. So relaxing and again nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. The pool is lush and the steam room was fab. The whole ambiance of the place was so relaxing we loved it. Wish we could have a bit more time for free though. Wouldn't be so kean to pay £25 for 2 hours use.
Overall had a great stay, will definetly return and we will recommend you to anyone who will listen lol

Room Tip: Garden room costs £20 extra but we didn't go to sit in room so we were quite happy with what we...

This was the first time I have been at this Hotel. The scenery and grounds are beautiful and well kept so pretty and peaceful . The hotel itself is spotless and bathroom , foyer, lounge and dinning area and lovely. My partner and myself attended a wedding there at the weekend . Staff were attentive and friendly. .The dinner was a four course and was delicious every course served in nice time and couldn't fault it. The room that the wedding was in was lovely with beautiful veiws over gardens and countryside. Large big room for dinning in and no long waits for clearing room for the dance and music , quick and efficient service , well organised and top class , and bar prices reasonable too.. Highly recommend this for wedding or functions , really fantastic venue.

Had a lovely meal, food was tasty and well presented , staff were very friendly and attentive, £3.45 for a 330ml bottle of cider bit pricey I thought No alternative cider so you're captured if you're a cider drinker, also took ages to serve drinks after ordering, just couldn't understand why . Well worth a visit for the stunning views of the local countryside alone.

My good friend got married here in May.

Master of ceremonies was fantastic, well organised.
The waiting staff, all very young, great and attentive.

Good food. Lovely venue.

We stayed in room 1. A room with disabled access. Booked along with the wedding, so the hotel was very full.

On entry to the room - clearly visible with a door open - a linen cupboard. As a guest, I don't want to see where you store your clean linen. Close the door.

The room itself was lovely and comfortable. Lovely big double bed and couch.

Not a great view, and admittedly not much can be done with that (it over looks the roof). We had the windows open, as it was warm, you can hear the roof fans slightly, so if you are a light sleeper then this isn't the room for you.

No other issues within the room (but some carpet stains visible).

The main reason I'm disappointed is the bathroom.

Having visited as part of a wedding fayre, I've seen the great rooms on offer. The high level of decor and the quality of finish. This room, based on the bathroom, is not one of them and I would expect more, to be honest.

A large crack in the sink, taps that don't switch off all the way, a shower curtain that smells damp and a shower head that doesn't stay up on the holder.

A shower over a bath, not an issue. But when you can't stand under the shower head because it keeps falling down, a bit poor.

But all in all, a good hotel.

On check in (we were quite late in the day) the reception staff could've been a bit cheerier, and i had also phoned earlier in the week and the girl I spoke to was also a bit curt. But could be just my interpretation, and you can't please everyone.

Bit expensive, although Good beds and a nice wedding venue. Although, on the negative side there is no sky sports and a bit slow to arrange the check-ins after the people staying the night before, but I would stay here again if I was in the area.

Room Tip: Stay away from spa area is a smell of chlorine
