We choose this hotel as a stop over whilst travelling around the Belfast/Causeway Coastal Route area. The hotel is 10mins drive outside Belfast in a lovely little area - not much to do so try and spend a while in Belfast and then travel out to the hotel. Dinner in the hotel was nice and breakfast was excellent. There is a lovely area out the back of the hotel with heaters which is nice to relax in after dinner. Rooms are really original, we stayed in the Mistletoe room for a rate of £60 per room. Lovely room. Could'nt fault the hotel really apart from the lady who checked us in was a bit rude.

I stayed for a friends wedding in the Garden suite for UKP70/night, a gorgeous room with a great view in a wonderful, sprawling old hotel in a beautiful spot. The breakfast was fantasitic, big log fires are always burning, the staff were simply unbeatable- we had to check out at 04.30 in the morning and they arranged a breakfast for us. At midnight the night before we were in the residents bar drinking and chatting with other guests and were asked to move a bit nearer the bar so part of the room could be closed off. When we asked why we were told that people in the room upstairs were leaving early (us) and it was so those people could have some peace. Do not miss it if you visit NI.

The were only 2 things that spoilt our visit. One was that the drinks were very expensive - London prices. The other problem was that our room - although very pretty with 2 single four-posters and a nice TV - smelled of stale cigarettes. It was a non-smoking room but the smell was clinging to curtains etc. The food was lovely and the service excellent in the bistro though slightly less friendly in the bar. The real fires are a lovely touch and everywhere you looked you spotted another interesting feature.
This would be a lovely venue for a wedding or a romantic weekend break.

have just been on a one night stay to this hotel. We stayed here previously on a two night stay last year and was so impressed this time not however . we were told all that was available was a double superior this is where we were dissappointed. we were given a room on the ground floor one window on the main road one in the carpark v noisy even during the night. there were cobwebs iin the window and the bathroom whereas it was a disabled access one was not v pleasant.
worst of all was the receptioninst did not ask how our stay was which i assume is basic hotel practise.

on a positive note food was excellent

I have stayed in many country inns over the years and the Old Inn must rank amongst the very best.
The service is both efficient and friendly, the bedrooms are nicely furnished and quiet and the public rooms are extensive and very warm and comfortable.
I would really recommend this hotel.
